I acually liked this Story ,i loved the characters. Who thought you could have such a wild fun time with OC's . I touched a cool dark place inside of myself, and loved it.. I used to be proud of this story. Thanks to all your Wonderful comments you've proven me wrong.
Once i find out what the bare minimum i need on here i'll get rid of my other story, got no reason to do it anymore. I have a few friends i talk to on here, and need to keep my account. So for now i'm still around. There will be no end to "Sparkle Sky: The stardancer" it's staying as it is...no one likes it so what's the point to keep going?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with having ADD, and I'm sorry to hear that that idiot can't appreciate your story.

it's ok X I apreciaate your thoughtfulnness. I forgot just how nasty people can be... anyhow thanks

There is a group... I'd have to find it, that specializes in Writers with ADD\ADHD and other things like that.

Thanks Lisa, if i had the drive i'd look around for it too.
It would be nice to see what we can do

I don't think it's people picking on you for having any kind of clinical mental disorder, silly filly.

One of the more frowned-upon things to do in the pony fanfiction community is write a story that has any alicorn OC in it whatsoever. Alicorn OCs aren't necessarily a *bad* thing, but almost anyone who feels that an alicorn OC is necessary for their fanfiction isn't being imaginative enough.

Really, the people on here could care less about what's going on with you mentally; what they came here to do is read what you felt was worth writing down for them to read. If you aren't looking for honesty with your stories, this website definitely isn't the place to host them, then.

Much as I dislike pre-judgment, I have an avid bias against anything that involves humans in Equestria or ponies on earth; that doesn't mean all the stories are bad, and I can actually point out several that have proven my bias wrong. That doesn't change the fact that most of them are poorly written, have themes that are far too similar to one another, or are so devoid of imagination that I cringe to even think of how it passed moderation.

I'm biased toward alicorn OC fanfiction as well, but in a more positive manner--I find almost all of them comedic, which is the opposite of what most authors intended. I haven't read your fic about Sparkle Sky yet, but I'm almost certain I will find it humorous if I end up doing so. :fluttershyouch:

I actually have been helping someone write a great story he's got after finding him writing an alicorn OC fic that was getting a huge amount of flak for being poorly written; his name is PsychopathOfTheYear, and I think he's got wonderful ideas--but Prince Rapace, his alicorn OC, was definitely not a good idea if he intended for it to make him a reputable author, rather than infamous.

I don't question what his mental state is; I only know that he is a good author, and he just needs someone to help him cultivate his ideas. Perhaps you need someone to help you re-formulate your idea and make it more enjoyable to others.

I'm not saying that writing Sparkle Sky is a bad thing; however, wish fulfillment is a generally more private matter. If you really love your OC and want to see her story through to the end, you should do it no matter what others say--but if you don't want to hear what others say, keep it between you and her. Don't make it publicly available for everyone to read.

I edit for Psychopath as well as pre-read for The Royal Guard in addition to writing my own stories, so what small amount of time I have on here is pretty well monopolized as far as being able to personally help you with your stories; I will, however, be more than happy to offer you advice via private message! :pinkiehappy: Just message me with story ideas, character ideas, and the like, and I'll be more than happy to offer you constructive advice on how to improve and make yourself a better writer, author, and storyteller. :yay:

Thanks Scoota
I'll remeber you if i ever write anymore.
Right now, i'm totally beat down...I feel that if no one likes my stories then i shouldn't write. I put them up to let people enjoy them...
Anywho. i'll try again eventually and will remeber your Kindness

I tried to do this stupid writing thing, and Failed.

Everyone fails their first time, except for those random prodigies who are maybe 1% of any creative population. And even good, experienced writers fail sometimes. No one is perfect and they got good by continuing to write anyway. The only reason I'm not a better artist is because I don't practice. It's the same with writing (actually I ignored art in favor of writing for the past five years, so I did get better at that, but it took effort.) :raritywink:

I know it's hard when you're feeling down, but the disappointment probably won't last forever. Whenever you feel like writing again, I think you should give it another shot.

Maybe i would have tried harder but some idiotic Prick told me i was "Using Add as a shield for something i did" I already knew i sucked at writing thanks, but one thing i ididn't know...I didn't know That it was a crime to Have a condition like this. oh and thank you for reminding me that i'm not "normal" That was nice of you.

FicusCat said that ADD was something that could be overcome. It wasn't the most polite way to say it, but that was their implication. This is a more hopeful comment than it may initially seem, because they're assuming that you can also succeed in spite of personal adversity! Don't you want to prove that you can? I'm not saying it'll be any easier, but nothing worth doing was ever easy. :trixieshiftright:

Besides, everyone needs help to polish their work. Trust me, the best stories tend to have several editors. I know it can be difficult, but many writers have difficulty. Writing isn't as easy as most people think. You just need to find what works best for you. :ajsmug:

I acually liked this Story ,i loved the characters. Who thought you could have such a wild fun time with OC's . I touched a cool dark place inside of myself, and loved it.. I used to be proud of this story. Thanks to all your Wonderful comments you've proven me wrong.

I don't think anything was proven, other than you love the story and a number of the readers didn't. If you genuinely want to continue it, there is no one stopping you, but you'll have a very hard time persuading other people to enjoy it as much as you have. It takes a lot of hard work to create an OC that everyone loves and certain characteristics are twice as hard to convince a reader to accept. It's all about maintaining the reader's willing suspension of disbelief.

Alicorns are rare, so the reader is expecting twice as much effort to make the character fit into the world of Equestria. When that doesn't happen seamlessly, they tend to get snapped back to reality. If it happens enough times, the reader gives up. It's all about immersion and it's an uphill battle with certain story elements. You stumbled onto a bunch of them, which many first time writers tend to do. It's not that they're wrong, but it takes an extremely skilled writer to make these things feasible to most readers.

Unfortunately, these tend to be the sort of things that most first time writers gravitate towards. (And this sort of thing happens in every fandom, no exceptions. There is always an obvious course of action that more experienced writers will tend to avoid.) While some people may enjoy it any way, a large portion of the audience has seen it falter a million times before. The more this happens, the more it reinforces the reader's inability to take the concept seriously. It's a self-perpetuating cycle. That's why most people just claim that alicorns are off-limits and leave it at that. It's simpler than trying to explain all the details behind why it doesn't tend to work out very well. I could go more in-depth, but at the moment I've already written a lot and to be honest, I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. Just general guides. Even then, a lot of people will still dismiss the idea out of hand because it literally takes an exceptional amount of imagination and skill to make it work and therefore it's incredibly hard to know what to recommend to make that happen. :applejackunsure:

Or consider how many people were irked about Cadance and Twilight, then extend that to any OCs with twice as much irritation. But unlike Hasbro, the reader can talk to you directly, so they do! :trollestia:

Once i find out what the bare minimum i need on here i'll get rid of my other story, got no reason to do it anymore. I have a few friends i talk to on here, and need to keep my account. So for now i'm still around. There will be no end to "Sparkle Sky: The stardancer" it's staying as it is...no one likes it so what's the point to keep going?

You don't even need a story to keep your account. I had mine for a couple of months before I posted anything. I don't think there is a minimum.

Regardless, if you really want continue it, then continue it. You'll still learn from finishing the story, as long as you're hoping to get better and looking for ways to improve. Try to get over anything that seems insulting, accept any valuable constructive criticism, and carry on. Maybe join the Writer's Group for tips. (Also, I really love Viking ZX's blog posts about writing.) Then try to find a proof-reader for any future endeavors. You might find some help in the School for New Writers, Author Support, Looking for Editors, or Authors Helping Authors.

If you're not driven to write and you're done writing forever, well, not much I can do about that. Simply carry on with life and pursue other hobbies. :fluttershysad:
