Rated's Fanfiction Adoption Agency: The Beginnings (Not really) · 12:07am Feb 15th, 2014

Great news! A friend of mine gave me his laptop to use till I get my new one. And it's got skype and I can access google docs so I can write stories again at my usual pace!

So to celebrate, I finished my next adopted fanfic blog post!

If this is your first time reading my blog or and Adoption post allow me to quickly explain. I have tons of ideas I get for MLP fanfiction, I can't stop time to do them all nor can I use a TARDIS to write them all so instead I give them out to the people to write them should they choose too. A few adoptions have happened, none published at the time of this blog, but there is nothing wrong with taking an idea from somebody and giving your own twist on it, provided you acknowledge the idea came from somewhere else.

1. Title: “Pedestal Broken”

Summery Idea: “We all know that most stories have AJ’s parent’s are dead at the beginning of a fanfic and usually referred to as good ponies with a high reputation. Like AJ and the Apples were proud of whom they were and what they did when they were still alive. But what if something was known that shattered that very image. “

-The idea takes the notion that the farm was really successful during AJ’s parents time owning it, and they managed to bring in a lot of money. When they died, that money faded and while the farm is in okay shape, it’s not as good as it used to be.

-Why is that? Because though a horrible revelation it turns out that AJ’s parents were getting extra money from doing something horrible. Using their barn and farm lands as a cover for whatever criminal deed they were part of be it slavery, drugs, smuggling, or whatever is the writer’s choice. Why did they do this? To save the farm from shutting down and give a good finance for their children, right intentions but wrong methods.

-When this is revealed the high pedestal that the Apple Family had of them is broken, as is their reputation. They have to go living knowing that their parents were criminals and having to deal with the fallout and shame of it. How do they develop under these new revelations? What changes their character? Do they forgive their parents or hold a grudge forever? Does the town run them out or do they realize that they are no their parents? Up to the writer to decided.

2. Title: “How I Won Both Princesses”

Summery Idea: Twilight and the girls hear rumors that both Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are getting married, but nopony knows to who. Twilight and the others are soon summoned to help prepare the wedding and it turns out that both Princess are marrying the same pony.

That pony? Derpy Hooves.

Flabbergasted that DERPY of all ponies has won their heart, they ask how this all happened and the story is told.

-Basically, try to create a story in which Derpy manages to win the love of both princesses. You’re free to use anything as necessary.

3 Title: “When Time Has Stopped”

Summary: “The Blue one meets the Orange one on a hill where grass is soft, where clouds are everlasting and the winds are calm. In this moment of peace, they can finally let out the feelings in their hearts.”

-This is an idea from Neko-Me (Please PM her for permission for this ) where the entire fic is one big “Sensory fic”, in which the writer uses senses to describe the scene in perfect detail while never revealing the characters by name, only appearance or their characteristics. It’s obvious that this is Rainbow Dash and Applejack, but they are never called that.”

-From Neko: “What I have in mind is a vivid description of, both AJ and Dash's journey to the hill, using any prop and surrounding to describe their way, but not mentioning their names. Giving the feeling that everything is in motion, and love are their driving force as if their surrounding knew that and when they arrive at sunset time stops and they are sharing a seemingly eternal peaceful moment embracing each others love.”

4. “Solace Romance”

Summary: Princess Celestia and Luna have been the raisers of the sun and moon respectfully for at least a thousand years or so. One night, they both get a vision from the sun and moon who say that it’s time for the next raisers to be born, but it must come from their bloodline and they must be conceived at the respective solstices. Celestia and Luna realize they must find husbands soon, but one problem. They’ve never dated before.

-This story can be a romance or comedy or both, depending how the author wants to go with it. Celestia and Luna need to get married and pregnant for the next raisers of the sun and moon, who will gain their immortality and powers, allow the princesses to finally live their final years like normal ponies. However, neither has even dated or even had sex.

-They must find two partners, marry them, and mate with them at the respective solstice (summer for Celestia, winter for Luna) and the story can continue there or stop depending. The romance must be male, OC or character, and none of that magic female or futa thing.

5. “In the end, she was innocent” (Adopted by BringBackSonicSatAM)

Summary: “Three years ago, Twilight Sparkle was found guilty of murder of ten ponies, one of them including her own friend Fluttershy. Despite her pleads of innocence, nopony believed her and she was executed after found guilty. Her friends and family, even her mentor, all cursed her name and forgot about her. But suddenly, new evidence is supported and the real killer is found.

Twilight Sparkle was innocent. But now it’s too late.”

-We’ve heard of stories where certain characters (Usually Twilight) committed or suspected to committed something horrible that lead to their execution. This story takes place after that, a few years at least, where Twilight is dead and all think she was guilty. That is until a recent discovery proves that she was innocent.

-The story is all about the characters who have to come to terms that they sentenced an innocent mare, their friend and family member, to her death and that she had been telling the truth all along. Guilt, sorrow, shame, and anger are paramount. And not “EVERYBODY” can think that Twilight was guilty. A few can think she was innocent or talk about her in some positive way.

-The crime and who did it is up to the writer and it doesn’t have to be Fluttershy that is also dead but one of the mane 5.

6. “Downfall: The Final Ten Days of Equestria”

Summary: “It’s over and everypony knows it. The Conversion plan has failed, the shield destroyed, humanities armies only a few miles away from Canterlot. So many dead. So many surrendered. There is no hope but to surrender or die. These are the final ten days of the Equestrian Kingdom, invaders of Earth, before the end.”

-Before anybody asks, no I’m not saying that Equestria should be Nazi’s like in the Downfall movie (which I do recommend seeing), rather it’s the same atmosphere. The idea that a once powerful nation is on its last legs and there is no hope for it’s surival. It’s the end of Equestria, humanity will win.

-Set in the Conversion Universe, of course, where after a long bloody war due to events based on what the writer makes, humanities united forces are now laying siege to Canterlot which is protected only by strong, but fading magical shield. The only “known” character that must be alive no matter what is Celestia, anybody else is up to the writer. It’s about showing the hopelessness of Canterlot and its people as the doom falls before them and they are forced to surrender to humanity (how humanity treats them is up to the writer again).

-The emotions ranged to sorrow at the amount of losses that have happened, despair that Equestria’s kingdom will come to an end at humanity, anger that either ponies joined with humanity or that they lost the war, guilt and doubt that maybe they are the ones in the wrong and this is punishment, and worry about the future of the pony species on this planet.

-All fates of the characters are up to the reader, but I suggest having a few deaths.

7. “Obey”

Summary: “Diamond Tiara has never listened to anypony but herself and never obeys any other, not even her father can control her. One day, however, she wakes up to find that she has to obey anything anypony tells her to do. From apologizing, to carrying stuff, to dancing in the middle of the street, to even insulting herself. Zecora tells her that somepony put a curse on her, and the only way to break it is to do nice deeds of her own free will and learn her lesson. That shouldn’t be too hard. Right?”

-Pretty self explanatory, it’s a humility story where Diamond Tiara has no choice but to obey the demands of anypony who asks her to do something, say something, or otherwise. This of course will lead to her being used for her own embarrassment and humiliation, but some will take it too far and become the bullies themselves.

-The only way Diamond Tiara can free herself of the curse is to do nice things for ponies of her own free will and actually mean them. Meaning she has to learn how to be kinder and a better pony or else the curse will not be lifted.
