Or "How That Thing I Wrote Hit The Feature Box And Left Again."
By Bilbo Baggins, I guess.
Well, that was most certainly a thing, an unexpected thing, but a thing nonetheless. Basically I Look Into The Flames And See was written in the same vain as my other one-shots. An exercise in pointlessness if you would believe me.
I started writing this on the notion to just get something done again, which is always good. I always do this thing ,that when I haven't written something in some time, I get frustrated, and the best way to get it out is by being productive. The easiest way is always a one-shot. Just sitting down for two hours and getting something out. The results are hardly ever satisfying, but me writing something like this usually means I'm past the point of caring. So, I hit the submit button, got to bed, and found the story waiting with like sixteen upvotes and one downvote in about two hours. I didn't think much of it, send it to a few groups, talked about it in two hours and moments later:
This happened. Honestly, I wasn't expecting a 1000-20 Quota before the week ends. Like, wow? Seriously, who'd have guessed it would have that much of an impact. Truth be spoken, there were lots of things I wanted to do with this story, which is reflected in the fact that the one critique that appeared in the comments was the fact that it was too short.
I wholeheartedly agreed with the people who told me so, mainly because I should've waited with posting it and not just hit the submit button at 2AM. On the other hand, people enjoyed it nonetheless.
So, to everybody who read, and probably faved, I Look Into The Flames And See (which is totally not way too long for a story title): Thank you. I mean it. Thank you for reading, thank you for throwing in your vote, your opinion and give it the attention it might have deserved, or not. I don't kow, judging my own work on an objective basis is impossible.
Hey, you deserved it for this one. Really great one-shot here.
You're welcome!
It really was an emotionally weighted story. Good work.
Brought a tear to my eye.
