Scratching Itch (Also, Where Do You Come From?)

Wow, the votes were pretty scattered. Oh well, we had a couple come up above the rest. I have an idea that I will be working on when I can. Something quick and dirty, just for the sake of getting it out and posting something.

Have an Itch (Vote for Best Pony)

I have that niggle in the back of my brain telling me to write. However, I'd like a little warm-up exercise before jumping back into any major projects.

So, because it worked so well the last time, let's do this again. Vote for best pony! Preferably none that I have or are currently writing about.

Let me know in the comments below.

Where the Hell Have I Been!?

    Hey guys.

Unfortunately writing has been completely dormant as I've hit the insane schedule regarding three jobs that pick up when the weather is warm on top of other projects. In fact, I'm convinced that I've actually messed myself mentally through all of this.

So then... Commissions. (Future Potential) · 10:37pm May 7th, 2012

Contest to name "No Need For Words" pony is still going!

So I'm kind of at the point where I could be needing a couple extra dollars here and there. I know The Gentleman Creeper has done commissions and he's told me that he's been very pleased with the result of it. Well, I can write, so maybe people would pay me for it?

This is not certain. This is just a maybe for now. I'm not even sure if I have enough watchers to even merit entertaining this idea. But... there could be some bad news coming and so, who knows? I'm sorry.

I have no idea what to charge, so to get an idea, how much would you pay for a commissioned story? For 1,000 words? 5,000? 10,000+? Maybe you want an alternate way?

Again, this is an extreme uncertainty and probably only for few and far between cases. Everything I am currently working on and have released to be working on in the future will always be free. Thank you all for your support of my writing. I really feel like I'm betraying you all a little with this, but I promise that this will not affect current content.

*has no money, so dosen't care*

How about I donate 10 dollars? Not for a commission, but to help a artist?

I'd do it on what my younger sister calls a "bribe" basis. Have the offerer price the story at first, then if the offer's out of the price zone you think it is, you may haggle up or down, or even outright reject them if the offer is outrageous. It would require more effort on your part, but it increases the chance of both parties being happy with the final result.

Of course, a good compromise leaves everyone unhappy, and this also increases the chances of people saying "Screw it" and just leaving, so that might not be the best way to go.

Just don't bite off more than you can chew, mate.

Unless you're like me and have an unhinge-able jaw that helps you swallow antelope whole. Then by all means, do.

I wish you luck Gears.

I thought about this, honestly, but thought that it might end up in bidding wars; people adjusting their offers to have the best words/price ratio, and I'd rather not have any sort of competition spark from this.

That... would be so awesome to the point that I don't even know what to say. I don't think there's a way to say what I want to without coming across as somewhat uppity, so I'm just going to say it: I wouldn't feel right accepting that until I was open to do work for money. I am very thankful that you would consider simply donating any amount, but I would rather wait and see if I really need it. Thank you again and sorry! :twilightblush:

Thanks! I'll try to keep accepting commissions in the first round low so I don't get overwhelmed.

It's all good mate. If you want to work for it, you can work for it. The offer still stands however.

104272 Huh, I honestly didn't think of that. Guess I'm just too trusting in my fellow bronies, huh? Back to the drawing board...:raritywink:

i will do the same thing i did for creeper i will just donate to you.

Nyeh. I understand commissions but I dislike story ones...
Plus I don't use them myself.
