It has come to my attention that some smug bastard on fanfiction . net is copying my story and posting it under their own name.
I am, of course a bit displeased about this and have tagged it for theft. If others could also do so, it would be much appreciated.

What mystifies me is that they would copy MY work, I know my story is at least decent, but there are so many better stories on the site for him to copy.

1654692 While your story is really great, it's not just the pony part that probably got their attention. From what I can tell, Avatar fan fiction is pretty popular. It was probably for that reason more than anything else. It looks like he was selling it more for that crossover than the pony relation. Still, whatever the motivation, writers shouldn't do that. Celestia knows what I would do to someone if they tried to sell off something of mine that I worked this hard on. Fan fiction is widely ruled under an honor system for this type of thing. I share my Gdocs with tons of writers all the time for pre-reading and other things. I'm also trusted with the same courtesy. What they did was just low.
But that's why writers like us stick together, right?

Also, on a related topic, MLP has 17.4k stories over on fanfiction! Not as much we as here, I'm sure, but I remember going there when they had less than 1.5k!
I stopped using that site around the time they hit 5k... and if thieves make up most of the traffic there, then I think that it was a good decision.

The only other person that reviewed it has been alerted about this. I'm pretty sure he's unhappy too.
Not for any real reason, he just wondered why the thief wasn't updating more.

Well, There's the Avatar bit, and then most people would probably KNOW about those better stories.
If you're gonna steal something and try to sell it as something of your own making, you'd go for something lesser known, rather than something that everybody knows about.

Well I am the discussed only reviewer of the thief and I was quite saddened by the incident.
