    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

This Gen Will Most Likely Be Like Last Gen · 10:14am Nov 16th, 2013

I am talking console gaming, of course.

Like the 180 Microsoft pulled back in July, I'm following suite, and am all but sold on the Xbox One.

I was somewhat impressed with the demonstration videos I saw. As comparisons began to trickle in, I was a little alarmed that the Xbox One was not holding it's own against the PS4's horsepower. But then I remembered that the 360 had a similar disadvantage against the PS4. But then, it had the advantage of pricing.

It is hard to see the clear-cut advantages this early on, but I have been an Xbox gamer for a decade now. I began back in August 2003 with the first huge Xbox, that bulbous controller, and Halo. I had a PS2, barely touched it. My GameCube shared time with my Xbox. Next gen came around, and the Xbox 360 was my next purchase, in June of 2006, shortly after graduating high school. The Wii followed, and I did not get a PS3 until 2010, where I bought my must-haves for that system, including Uncharted 1, 2, and 3, Motorstorm 1 and 3, and The Last of Us. But that's it. Six games. The Wii also saw little attention from me, with a Mario game here and there, and Metroid Prime Trilogy, which I have rarely touched due how rare I discovered it to be.

With a Kinect with every system, I hope it finally comes out of the 'gimmick' area. My best experience with it was when Bethesda added voice commands to Skyrim. It made it much more streamlined, pretty much eliminated the need for the menus, and made it that much more fun. I am rather impressed with the 13-second warm boot (from standby to signed in). Currently, my 360 is somewhere around the 45-60 second mark for a cold boot (360 has no standby), when it comes to signing in and being ready to play.

This also may be the soonest I get a console after launch. Currently, the 360 holds the record at 6 months. No, I don't have much sympathy for those who are experiencing issues with their new PS4's because everyone buying on Day One should be educated enough to know that's the risk you take when you buy at launch. I am sure MS wants to avoid another RRoD epidemic at all costs. The Xbox One looks like one of the most well ventilated consoles I've seen, so if there are issues, I doubt it will be heat related.

Neither launch lineup for either console looks promising. This will be Microsoft's truly first generation without Halo on the front lines. The 360 had backwards compatibility, and at the time of launch, Halo 2 was the juggernaut of online gaming. The Xbox One will have no backwards comp, and Halo's multiplayer has absolutely seen better days. I am pretty curious as to what 343 Industries is hoping to do in order to pull the franchise out of the multiplayer tailspin it's gotten itself into. Over the last year, Halo 4 has slowly declined on the Xbox Live Activity charts, and as of late October, has finally fallen to 12th place, below Halo 3, which is in 11th, and over six years old at that. The only two titles I've got my eyes on are Battlefield 4 and Need For Speed Rivals, the former of which I have been playing already, and will be stat-transferring whenever I do make the upgrade.

And don't worry, PC crowd. I'm looking at you guys too. My Asus G17 gaming laptop, which had high-end specs back in 2009, has been showing it's age lately, and at 4 years old, has held up incredibly well. But I am looking to replace it, hopefully with my first serious gaming rig. Not sure what I want yet, nor how much I want to spend.

Wow, I really went into a rant here, didn't I?

To be brutally honest I think you buy a consol on what ever you are used to playing: for example I've been playstation since I was 5 years old and moving to an xbox controller would just be to much of an annoyance than I'm willing to endure. Whilst the xbox one is great in the specs I'm not really going to side with either consol this year and probably hold back until next year when the sort of prototype realease consols have been thourelly tested by the customer, plus playstation put their slim line version of the Ps3 out only a year after their first launch of the PS3 so I'm keeping fingers crossed they'll have the same for the PS4. :derpytongue2:

I'm probably going to side with playstation first before xbox though mainly because I see the games before the consol you play on, I've seen both gamplays for Xbox one and PS4 and I can honestly say there is not much between the two at all dispite other peoples claims. This is why I'm not basing it on the consol this year but on the games they deliver. :rainbowwild:

This is again another point for playstation this time round as they have playstation only on a number of great games: example- the new killzone game and the new infamous which have both been given awards this year for their gameplay. :pinkiehappy:

There is a huge conflict on Titan Fall this year, I have a knack that their going to put it out first on the xbox, but the makers will soon turn it to all consols mainly for the use of getting more money in their pockets

Another reason we choose consols is mainly by following the crowds, everyone at my school in my current year is getting a PS4 bar 2 people so that's another reason, most games are vastly played on multiplayer and it's good to play with your friends on the weekend nights.:twilightsheepish:

So, sorry but PS4 for me but Xbox one later I might get both at the same time but it's probably unlikely. ~ Alex ~Shadowblades :scootangel:

What's your Gamertag?

I haven't been able to even think about preordering.

Not that I can, but, still.

Regardless, I'll end up getting a PS4 over a Xbox One because I like Sony better and they've better game in my book.

But I won't get one until the next round comes out. That way they get the bugs out.

~Skeeter The Lurker

Theirs a reason why thier giving away thousands of Xbox ones becuse they know that they cant sell against the ps4 i got my ps4 already and its good

I wouldn't really call it a rant, more of a "History of MilesProwers06 gaming life"

But for me, my last gen console was a GameCube. :trixieshiftleft: I wouldn't have a PS2 if my friend didn't send me one... for free including shipping.

I haven't given a damn about console gaming since 2008 or 2009. The last game I really remember playing was Record of Agarest War, and that was a long time ago now.

You no buy ps4? :fluttershysad:

Wait the Xbox 360 has a boot time that long? Really? My PS3 hard boots in about 10-15 seconds, and I had always just assumed that the Xbox was about the same :twilightoops:

The main reason I will not be getting the xbox one is that Microsoft could add the DRM back in at any time without warning in a firmware update, and I would rather not take the chance.

1512178 A bit more than a hard boot. I'm talking from standby to being signed in, at the menu, ready to play or watch whatever.

1512256 So was I, unless I turned of my PS3 improperly and it needs to do a data check that's all the time it takes to start launching the game.

With the problems I heard about the PS4 and the shit Microsoft pulled. I am definitely going with the Wii U.

PC SUPERIOR RACE VALVE IS GOD STEAM BOX WILL USHER IN THE NEW AGE

Barely touched your PS2? I'm mostly a Nintendo fan and even I think that sounds crazy :applejackconfused: The PS2 had so many great games.

Anyway, I'll resist the urge to say why I think PS4 will be the better of the two. Different strokes for different blokes and all that. I don't plan on getting either for a while. I'm happy with my PC/Wii U combo for now.

1513900 valve and steam box isn't pc...

Meh. Close enough.
Gaben is still the Messiah, in any case.
