I wondered why neither Celestia nor Twilight bothered to reset that shield even though Chrysalis openly TOLD them it was crumbling...
Funny, I always considered it more like defending the Death Star in Return of the Jedi, since mister Shield Generator was taken out by a Rebel infiltration team. Rumors of Ewok assistance remains unconfirmed.

Oh, this would be Epic, of mythic proportions! We really did need a full-on air war in that finale (of course, we needed a finale that was three episodes long, rather than just two).
Dash is clearly OP in aerial combat. And she'd still be OP if she ended up in Ace Combat 6 herself - imagine a jet that can go supersonic, with a turning radius of 5 metres at speed, and effectively no radar signature! She'd be able to cause utter havoc just with her supersonic wake. Fit one of those magic rocket packs that hold hundreds of missiles on her back, or even just the special weapons...
Also this blog post has marvellous timing, I discovered the Ace Combat universe about last week.
