My first rant i guess.
today's rant! Spike hate!
I have read a lot of fics where he is-
the butt end of jokes, being hurt, bullied, humiliated, laughed at and yelled for for no reason.
This has actually turned me away from a lot of fics.
This is really one of my pet peeves for fics i guess.
Dont really know if some of you agree or not, but feel free to comment on what you think.

Some are way too weird for me my friend.
Spike is depicted as a dog though in EQD and the main story line. I think he is there for light humour but at the same time is Twilights strength. Just look at "Return of the Crystal Empire" and its obvious he is her rock. Growing up without friends, he must have been one heck of a companion.

I am not prepared.
I think it's just his position. A servent, pet and child all in one with a hopeless crush and quasi-idiotic schemes.
On the other hoof, he's devoted to his work, incredibly nice, doesn't care for his own kinds way and chooses to live a pony lifestyle instead etcetera
And lets face it, there are worse hated ponies in the fandom (
)
Personally, I like his character. I seldom read fics with him as the protagonist though.
