So since December 20th I was in the hospital for the stem cell transplant. First 5 days were very strong chemo to destroy everything. Day 6 was a rest day. Then day 7 was the transplant and what not. They then switch to a system called Day + whatever.
Day + 1-2 went okay. Then 3-5 happened. Nothing but sleeping and other stuff while everything went to absolute 0.
+6-10 were probably the roughest in my opinion. I got something called Engraftment Syndrome - High grade fever(102+), rashes and many other things. This happened for 3 days straight at night. First thing to appear, chills then feeling like verything was on fire. BUT I am home now and fine.
Glad you are home and I wish you the best.
yay!!!!
Oh, fun. At least it wasn't GVHD. A friend of mine that had an analogous transplant had that happen to him.
But yeah, ES is just something that happens early on after the transplant. Glad to hear you're home and doing well now. If you need someone to talk to, just reach out to me on Discord, okay? The at-home recovery period can be a drag since you're not really allowed to go anywhere.
Huzzah!
