I got to go to the last BronyCon thanks to a surprise from my wife all four days were great but I have been hit by post con blue so hard it's ridiculous I've never been hit this hard before. Cant go wrong with 'Through the Eyes of Another Pony.' Its fairly funny with a regular update schedule. Another good one is 'My Little Brony: Fantasy vs Reality.' It's one of my favorites, although it seems like it is on an extended hiatus or abandoned.

Personally, my absolute favourite Is Arddeun Lleud by Priderage, up on DA. It's adventurous, it's shippy, it apparently had a bajillion plot holes( I never noticed any, till they got pointed out) and with a re-write of some of the worser chapters, as well as a sequel coming up, this ones a gem. If you're into grimdark, really edgy characters, check out Stasis by RickR on Fanfiction.net. The character is one of those you love to hate, and even the writer has said you're meant to hate the main character, who isn't the main character. It sounds confusing, and the massive chapters are time-sprites, but this is another one you should get onto, last week. I can't think of any more, but if any come to mind, I'll shove em up here.

I have to say that I recommend "Through the Eyes of Another Pony" too. It's on of the best MLP fics I have read honestly.
I would suggest "The Dresden Fillies" if you are familiar with the Dresden Files series. Or, if you are familair with smart-alec guys in trench-coats in general, it's kinda a genre.

Molotov Cocktail's Whiplash is a great one. Dark, high-octane thrills with a major league surprise towards the end.
MarineMarksman's Haylo series is another great one. Halo meets MLP and it is very well done too.
And of course, my own fic that you favorited: Into an Uncharted Planet.
Personally, the humans-in-Equestria genre doesn't really interest me much, so I don't have any recommendations.

Shameless plug for my story "Conditioned Fear" and while it isn't blatantly a HiE story, there are many things hinting towards it, and the story itself (I hope) will eventually become a good one.
Recently discovered a story called "My Second Life." It's great and in order to catch up to where it is today, it will take 2 hours of reading.

Even if you hate the idea, even if you're not into human in Equestria. This one is a true, rare GEM. I just cannot recommend this enough.
ps. 4175 was absolutely right - Article 2 truly deserves the shower of "moars" it got. If you haven't already - check this one out! Even the famous Kkat (the author of Fallout: Equestria) asked for a permission to write a spin-off story. I think this says enough about the quality of Article 2.

I don't see Dread Chitin mentioned yet. It is my all time favorite HiE. Also Creeping Darkness is brilliant if ya like stuff with a dark bend.

Same here, Hype, but no follow through.
Okay, I'm safe-ish now. I'm plotting a sequel to my first fic here: Ponies on Ponies and that will be a continuation of that story, but from the opposing side of the coin. In Ponies I did the whole "Ponies on Earth" story, but it gets a bit on the inverted side in the sequel. I'll pass a note when I put it up, but keep an eye out for it. Expect the first chapter sometime between May and July, I'll need to gather material first.
NOTE: I'm not trying to self-advertise, but I ran the numbers and most followers are keeping an eye on me because of Ponies on Ponies and your entry here says "human in Equestria" so I thought I'd pass the message. I'll also try to get a page for Thousand up soon for you.
Second Life and Ascension.
Hope/An Angel in Equestria. The first few chapters are somewhat amaturist, but it gets better. It ends with cliff hanger though. But never fear Hope/An Unexpected Ally is up and stll going wth twelve chapters and counting. Oh and thanks for watchhng me.
