What the future holds · 9:11pm Sep 4th, 2013

Just thought I'd mention that I've made some major updates to my list of future story ideas on my user page, and that there are some very exciting stories just over the horizon.
One In A Million Is already being revised and will be published soon, but none of the other ones have been more than outlined yet.
I'd like some feedback from my readers: Which one are you most excited to see? Which one would you want done first?

I'll be working on the (self explanatory) title of Discord finds Jesus. Literally.: A short, fun comedy that's sure to ruffle some feathers.

I want to do a very hard-hitting drama exploring the darker side of Celestia and how she struggles to overcome it immediately after banishing her sister. Tentatively titled The Dark Side of the Sun.

There will also be a really neat story about the creation and reincarnation cycle of alicorns titled True Love Never Dies.

Another project will be a medium-length world-building saga of a pony who ends up having to live among timberwolves. Much will be revealed of the wolf society, and in the end a war will loom.

I Also want to finally do The Clothes Break The Mare, the long-awaited sequel to The Clothes Make The Mare

And then...

I see... a Luna and Trixie fic maybe?

A romcom about Celestia?

A short and strange story about Celestia?

A comedy/adventure about Celestia's rise to power?

A Dr. Whooves story?

A sequel to First Impression?

A sequel to the all OC comedy?

A prequel to the sunset trilogy (the adventures of Apollo's crew)?

A pulp fiction style story?

A very short shocker/comedy about two of the mane 6's parents?

A pony mafia story with a twist ending?

A history book?

Yet another futurama crossover (in a different way)?

An exploration of the mane 6's finances?

A story of Celestia facing a dire accusation?

Celestia for a day?

Hitchiker's guide to Equestria?

A Celestia shipfic?

An exploration of what cutie marks mean?

A story about one of the mane 6 getting pregnant?

A destruction of Discord?

An idea about an OC pony named Moodstone?

Pony Matrix?

A sequel to The Dark Side of the Sun?

Exploring the downsides of loyalty?

A blind collab?

A comment driven story called What should Daring Do?

A story of a good Pinkie gone bad?

A villain's POV story?

An evil Twilight story?

An evil Luna story?

An evil Friendship story?

A Sombra story?

A Derpy story?

I really like the idea of discord meets jeesus, dark side of the sun, a dr. whooves story, a sombra story, and a villian POV story

Ah, good. The Discord Finds Jesus story is the one I was really wanting to do next, because it'll be short and easy.
:twilightblush:
You get tired, writing one serious drama after another, you know?

L4

Truth be told I'm still waiting on that gilda fanfiction <3...

Everything else is eh. I do like Trixie or Doctor who. If you get your fic to somehow involve Screwball then I will always be your slave XD

Oh wow... there are people around who haven't forgotten about the Gilda fic yet? :twilightoops:
Guess I'll have to write it eventually.
As far as sequels go, I think I'll sequel them in the order of how popular they are, so The Clothes Make the Mare gets top priority, but First Impression is #2 on the list for sequels...
Hm... I do like the idea for a name -- Second Impression!

And a screwball-involved fic? I've never considered it... but it might have some potential... Now I've just gotta figure out an idea. :rainbowderp:

All I really have to add is a little idea of mine. Namely that instead of Yesua ben Yosef (sp?) Jesus' real pony name would just be Carpenter.

Hm... well, that would be good if I was ponifying him... :unsuresweetie:

But... nope, he'll be just regular old Jesus, holes in the hands and all. :trollestia:

Definitely wanna see that sequel to The Clothes Make the Mare. Celestia for a day sounds like fun too; I'm guessing it would be "A day in the life of--" kind of thing. Slice of Life stories are always good. Basically, anything with Celestia in it and I'm usually happy, :scootangel: as long as it's written well, and hasn't been done a million times before haha but even then that doesn't always stop me :derpytongue2:

Looking forward to what you come out with

Well, it'll be quite different from the original, and probably much longer... but still very interesting, I'm sure.

...I'm considering making that one a clopfic... I'm not sure.

At any rate, it goes like so:
Celestia assigns Twilight to study changeling magic
Twilight tests it out in trying to copy Celestia -- it works!
Celestia goes off on an urgent diplomatic mission for a day... and she forgot to tell anypony about Twilight's copy of her.
...shenanigans happen.

Well, you're in luck, then.
Celestia's my favorite pony, and I've got quite a few fics planned that will feature her prominently... some of them very original. :trollestia: And of course, I always try my best to make things well written.

HA a clopfic? Well hey if that's the way you want it to go then that's the way you want it to go. May or may not read it, though; personal morals say "don't" but that doesn't always happen :twilightblush: so maybe I would read it, but you know, secret-like (woo hypocrisy!). But clopfic or not, your little summary sounds interesting! Like a nice comedy slice of life fic. I mean, doesn't really seem like it would fit the mood for a clopfic, but perhaps I'm wrong.

Glad to see another Celestia-lover around here  she really is my favorite pony--when it comes to fannon, that is. Twilight is best pony for me with regards to the show, with Celestia and everypony else close behind in second. But seriously, totally best princess.

And oh yeah totally, I know you try your best when writing; after all, it was "The Clothes Make the Mare" that got me to follow you. And I figured the sequel would be different, seeing as how the last one ended and all.

Well, it all depends what Twilight chooses to do with her newfound identity. :twilightblush:

I assume you're aware of the 'protect celestia' group? :trollestia:

Of course. The idea for that one is that Cadance finds out the secret of the other alicorns...
(probably through Shining Armor -- there's a reason he wasn't told in the first place. :facehoof:)
Anyway, she becomes jealous of the true power these artifact-powered alicorns wield... Good for her, she finds out about another 'lost' set, of which the alicorn amulet (that Trixie used) is one of the three parts. She endeavors to collect all three, and becomes more evil and powerful with each one she gets. Which all leads up to the gripping conclusion... :rainbowhuh: that I haven't thought up yet. It's a work in progress. :facehoof:
Probably involves the elements of harmony, and it might just end up with the 'Twilight is Celestia' secret being exposed when people wonder why Celestia, not Twilight, was using the element of magic.

1337629
Ack, sorry for the delay; was having internet-availability-issues. But no more :yay:

Hmm, what would I do as Celestia for a day? That's a good question. Given my curiosity, I'd probably spend the day just seeing what's it's like to be her, in her normal life, rather than having fun and using it as a chance to break Da Rules or do whatever I wanted.

You know...I think I've heard of that group before, but I haven't ever checked them out. Good to see people caring though. Most of the hate she gets just doesn't make sense.

Oooo, that sounds intriguing. At least Shining Armor finds out! That was like one of the saddest things for me in the first story; that he kept trying to contact Twilight, but she never responded. Ack! It killed me! So if he finds out then good!

You said Cadance would get jealous...so do you plan to make her out as a villain, or something more tragic and less typically "evil"?

 I do so enjoy hearing the reactions to the feels in the end.
:trixieshiftright: And, honestly, I put it there specifically so it would contrast with the happy mood of the other letters and be all the more poignant. Looks like that worked. :twilightblush:

A villain, yes, but the well written kind.
In the beginning, she'll have good, very understandable ambitions. She doesn't know that the lost set is lost for a reason -- that it corrupts its user. ... It'll give me a nice opportunity to do a character deconstruction as her personality gradually unravels. ... And, of course, some feels, again at the expense of Shining Armor -- what happens when Cadance becomes evil enough to turn on him? I think I'll also answer the question, what happens when you have a villain who's smart enough to run away or hide when the elements of harmony come calling?
Or... (dramatic pause :moustache:) a villain who knows and isn't afraid to tell the secret of who Celestia is! Will they be blocked from taking action by blackmail?
And, though she will be by all means the villain, I'm considering doing the whole story from her POV.

1342550
Haha, oh yes, it worked alright :fluttercry:

You could also make Cadance more of a tragic villain, if it's from her point of view. For instance, she wants to use the power to do something good that she really cares about but others can't help her with (such as save a loved one, a-la Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader), and her ambition and immoral desire for power is what blinds her to how far she's falling because of the amulets, whereas without them she might realize she's going down the wrong path to reach her goal. So there's good and bad drives pushing her forward. But it's your story, not mine :twilightsheepish:

Cadance revealing Twilight's secret would definitely be a threat, and I think you should do it; after all, you don't want to make cadance unnecessarily incapable or dumb for the sake of the plot or something. Like, you don't want the reader asking "why doesn't she do ______? It would help her out." It would also raise the stakes. She would certainly have her work cut out for her trying to prove the secret. The idea is so crazy nopony would believe it unless they saw it.

Good idea, that.

I see... An old blog post!
