To Everyone who thinks "Snowy Night" is the best thing they've ever read · 7:37pm Aug 6th, 2013

Update! I remain in the Featured Box!

Look at me! I'm blogging for the second time in twelve hours! Anywho, it's probably natural to not be happy with the response one's first story generates. Alas, I am not an exception. I've been getting a lot of favorites, a lot of watches, and a lot of comments. People keep commenting that my story is the best thing they've ever read. I've got people telling me they cried when they read my story.

Seriously.

Seriously.

Seriously.

Is this the normal reaction to a sub-par, inferior piece of fiction that is clearly written by a hack like me?

Just kidding! Self-deprecating humor works for Jake the Army Guy. He is also an author far better than me although he acts like he's not. Do not fret. I don't have an inferiority complex. I am really surprised by the response. It's really something from my wilder fantasies. (My wildest fantasies always seem to include Lauren Francesca for some reason.) I promise my new watchers that there is already something more in the pipe that hopefully you will also enjoy.

In the meantime, if you enjoyed my humble, little story, here are some suggestions of stories that are way better than mine and are more deserving of the praise you are misguided in giving to me. (More sarcasm.)

My Little Dashie by ROBCakeran53.

If you think my story is the best thing you've ever read and it made you cry, I'm guessing you've probably never read My Little Dashie. I believe most bronies into fanfiction would probably agree that it's the best MLP fanfiction ever written. I used to me more into fanfiction in my youth. I used to read fanfiction mostly on Fanfiction.net prolifically. I think I can say it's probably one of the best fanfictions ever! (I hear good things about Sherlock fanfiction though, but I've never read any because I don't yet watch Sherlock. I probably should. I'm already a bit of Sherlockian.) Anyway, onward!

The Impossible Girl by Doctor Perseus

This story is almost as good as My Little Dashie. As Nicholas Cage would say, "That's high praise." It also helps that Doctor Perseus is one of my favorite authors on this site. More people should read his stories. It has everything. Action, adventure, romance, comedy, a naked chick. It is what Equestria Girls should have been like. I only have one nitpick. If you know Doctor Perseus as well as I do, you know that he mostly writes Doctor Whooves stories. When I first saw the title, I thought it a crossover with Doctor Who involving Clara Oswald. It isn't. But it's still an awesome story. It might not come as a surprise then to know that Doctor Perseus also wrote his own sequel to My Little Dashie called Father of a Rainbow, which is also really good and a worthy sequel to My Little Dashie.

The Riflepony Series by DiveBomb

You think my story has feels. DiveBomb's Riflepony Series will blow you away with feels out of the barrel of a rifle! This story has an incredibly ridiculous premise. Applejack's cousin Braeburn (yes that Braeburn from "Over a Barrel") becomes a skilled marksman who goes on a series of adventures with Daring Do (yes, the heroine of the book series Rainbow Dash is reading in "Read It and Weep"). That's not the ridiculous part though. DiveBomb....

...Wait for it...

...Ships Braeburn and Daring Do together!

What?!

Still with me? I can tell you though that it is the most romantic story I have ever read! But it's not sappy at all. It's chock full of action and adventure. It has some really good, well developed OCs. Surprisingly, there's not a lot of Rainbow Dash, but there's enough. It's also probably the best depiction of guns in an MLP fanfiction. Not surprising since in real life, DiveBomb is a gunsmith of some kind. So definitely check that out.

Doctor Whooves by Doctor Perseus

If you're a long time Whovian like me and you still have a major soft spot of David Tennant's 10th Doctor, then you should definitely check out Doctor Perseus's series Doctor Whooves. It is probably the best series of crossover stories I have ever read! It seamlessly blends together Doctor Who and MLP. The Doctor faces off against MLP villains, the Mane 6 face off against Doctor Who villains and creatures, they together face off against original villains and creatures reminiscent of those from Doctor Who! The best part though is that in recent "episodes" of the series, Donna Noble has rejoined the Doctor on his adventures in Equestria! (Doctor Perseus also blogs a lot, and from those blogs, you'll find that Donna Noble is his favorite companion alongside Clara Oswald.) If I had to pick my absolute favorite episodes, I'd probably say "A Dalek in Celestia's Court" and "Work of Fiction" but "A Country at War" and "Angie the Great" come close, mostly because they involve Donna Noble running around Equestria.

So if you're a Whovian, definitely read Doctor Perseus' stories! His blogs are really great too. Check those out. He deserves to be in the Featured Box! Get to it my new fans!

Under a Luminous Sky by Jake the Army Guy

I mentioned Jake the Army Guy before. He acts like he isn't a good writer, but he is one of the best. I like a good murder mystery and detective story. Under a Luminous Sky is definitely one of those. It's quite a feat writing a MLP murder mystery. It also features a very well written OC as a protagonist. (He's apparently based on a character from the novels of Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston, but you don't need to have read any of those to read this story.) He's even shipped a little with Twilight Sparkle! :twilightsheepish: Anyway, if you like murder mysteries with a dash of the supernatural, definitely check out this story. Jake the Army Guy also blogs a lot, and those are seriously funny! Definitely check those out. He also every so often will recommend a story since he also reviews stories and stuff for FOB Equestria. Those are sometimes worth checking out.

Wow, those are a lot of meandering thoughts. I promise I probably won't do that in the future. Let me know if you want to see me blog more. If you want to check out my other pony related projects, check out My Brony Videos on YouTube.

God bless you all. God bless America. And God bless Equestria.

An addition, if allowed. Reading My Little Dashie alongside this
Really enhances the story. (it did for me at least, the background music and pictures really makes the feels much more potent):fluttercry::fluttercry:
I've said so before, and will do so again. If he isn't really breaking down and crying while reading, he's a damn good actor, or really dedicated to get the feels across. :yay:
But that could just be me though. :raritywink:

1266825 I will have to check that out. Thank you good sir.

1266835
Not a problem.
Spreading the feels. :pinkiehappy:

Thanks for the shoutouts! :pinkiehappy::twilightsmile:

I'll make sure to check out the other stories you mentioned here as well. I'm especially interested in checking out The Riflepony Series.

1266845 Yes definitely do that. :raritywink:

I read My Little Dashie when it was all the rage. It did not make me cry. Snowy Night, on the other hoof, did. Although Rainbow Dash was my favorite character at the time (during the My Little Dashie trend I was still a new brony), it still didn't make me cry.

Snowy Night was amazing! :moustache::moustache::moustache::moustache::moustache: 5 moustaches out of 4
