What week is it? · 6:48pm May 10th, 2013
It's finals week!
And I have been spending a worrying portion of my study time doing pony stuff. No matter, I'm always good at taking tests. I'm sure I'll ace this exam on... what was I taking, again? Morpho-something, I think. They'll probably write it up on the board.
Anyway, my semester has been heating up lately, which is what I am using as an excuse this time for not posting much (though some of you may have noticed that I updated A Teatime Visit). But I haven't been idle! Lemme show you what to expect from me this summer, all color-coded because impending pony-fiction is kinda like terrorist threat-levels, if you squint hard enough.
Red: Impending release. It's done, or mostly done, and just needs a few finishing touches before it gets posted.
Brown: Currently my primary project. I can't say I'll work exclusively on it, but I'm trying to place priority on this above the others.
Green: Secondary projects. These are the things that keep distracting me from my main project. I generally have a few thousand words' start on these.
Blue: Ideas. I don't have much written for these yet, just possibilities I'm entertaining once I clear some space ahead of them.
The Thirty-Minute Dash If you read Thirty Minutes of Fabulosity, this is the same thing, but with Rainbow Dash. Daily vignettes written for Thirty Minute Ponies, all centered around that one pony with the wings. I've been writing entries for it every day for a while now, but I haven't had the opportunity to throw together cover art and post it just yet.
And Then Applejack Was a Vampire Applejack wakes up one morning to find she has a craving for blood and a severe reaction to sunlight. I'll admit, this isn't very solidly in the primary slot. Depending on bursts of creative genius, this might lose its priority to one of the greens below. But right now, I've got some ideas for this one, so I'm running with it.
Everypony Loves Pie A polyamory fic centered on Pinkie Pie. Because there can never be enough pink poni love. Among other things, I am going to try in this fic to make use of Alicorn!Twilight without it becoming the main focus of the story, because that is something I'm going to have to learn how to do in this post season 3 world.
The Needle Skips A dark psychological thriller about a game of musical chairs with alternate universes and a love triangle. This has dropped a rung on the priority list since last time, but that isn't because I'm any less enthusiastic about doing it. It's just that my co-author for this, the ever-talented KitsuneRisu, has been quite busy lately and so progress has slowed. But Needle is still moving forward, rest assured.
Twilight and Applejack Steal a Train A comedy based on the pun, "Twijacking." Since the last two things I've published to this site other than Thirty Minute Ponies stuff have been updates to my comedy stories, this one will probably wait for a little while before I start working on it in earnest. I gotta recharge the funny.
More Trouble Than It's Worth This is the (tentative) title for the sequel to Stubborn as Ponies. A complicated heap of RariTwi love.
Afraid of Her Own Shadow Fluttershy x Fluttershy. Yay.
Before I go, I just wanna share with you all this lovely piece of art KitsuneRisu drew of Ersatz.
Pretty.
>Fluttershy x Fluttershy. Yay.
Tell me more.
Ohh, these all look lovely and I'm way too excited to see what'll happen with 'em when they come out. It's always a huge treat to read your work, and these synopses already have me excited.
I don't know if you're looking for advice on casual Twilicorn encounters at all, but I've settled fairly well on:
A) Twilight now has two extra limbs to add into body-language descriptions
B) when it comes to the romance and such, Twilight is probably more freaked about her princess-hood than anypony she'd be involved with...
C) she's probably even more ridiculously OP than she was before
Anyhow, best of luck with the Morpho-thingy and then summer. Lots of summer.
1068180 Well, a while ago, I had just joined the Selfcest is the Best Cest group, and I noticed that there was no Fluttershy stories in the group's folders. So I came up with an idea to change that, but then Too Many Pinkie Pies came along and sorta stole the wind out of it. But enough time has passed now that I'm beginning to entertain the thought once more of shipping the cute yellow one with herself.
1068200 Yeah, that's the general tack I'm taking with it, especially B). Twilight looks to Pinkie as a lifeline to the familiar (which, if you're depending on Pinkie Pie to keep your sanity grounded, you know you're in trouble!). But the important thing is that that's only one of five concurrent arcs, each with equal importance. That's the balance I'm hoping to achieve in that story.
Glad to know you're looking forward to it!
