Three new stories in the future · 5:16pm Mar 11th, 2013

"You Think You Know Me..."

Greetings my fellow bronies around the world.

So yeah, I have three new stories that I have plans for putting up in the future. I know some people are going to say "Three new one?! That makes you have a total of six stories?! Can you even handle that many?!" well turns out I actually can or at least well enough in the schedule I created and have been practicing with for the past month. It also helps that these stories are either very short or have shorter chapters then I'm used to doing like 4K to 5K words at max instead of the usual 8K to 10K.

Now the stories are still in editing and for one the artwork isn't yet completed, but close. So while they may not all come out in the following week, expect at least one or two of them sometime this month. So what are these stories? Allow me to announce the following:

1. Of Scales and Feathers(Title Pending)
Summary: After finding her assistant missing again during her court duties, Twilight finds Spike with none other then Fluttershy and learns that the two have been a couple for a while. After overcoming her shock, she is told the story of how the two, unexpectedly, found comfort in each other's embrace...

I actually can't still believe I'm doing this type of paring. I've seen Spike X Fluttershy done before really well in TheSecretBrony's [url=Spike's Home Alone]nullSpike's Home Alone and a few weeks later I felt the need to do one myself. Unlike SecretBrony's story, this takes place years after the third season with Spike being 17 (Adult Age in Equestria for this fic) with wings, as tall as Princess Luna, and more mature with Fluttershy being paired around age 28.

One of the things I have problems with some Spike x Mane Cast fics, not all mind you, is the fact that Spike is kid by all standards while the other six are technically adults or at least close to such an age. Sure this can be fixed with some age law or passage to adult hood thing, but for this story to work I really wanted to have some sort of law that states that while Spike isn't an adult in dragon eyes, he is an Equestrian Citizen having been born there and thus follows their laws of age.

This story is mostly told through flashbacks, explaining how Fluttershy and Spike became closer friends to something more over the span of seven months. Another difference from Spike's Home Alone which has Spike falling for Fluttershy in less then a week. There will be moments where the story breaks off to see Twilight's reaction of course, but for the most part it's told in the flashbacks. I'm actually excited to do this kind of story because it's a paring that is rarely used, even more so the AppleSpike and I want to make it develop into a real romance over time, similar to how I did How We Met.

2. Foal
Summary: Applejack couldn't be happier with her life. She owns a great farm and has been married for three years to the love of her life, Rainbow Dash. It's everything she's ever wanted in life, but now she wants something more. A family. A foal. Can she convince Rainbow Dash that they are ready to take a new step in their lives or will a haunting secret from Dash's past prevent them from having one?

I've mentioned this story before as my original idea for the AppleDash contest going on at the time. The reason I never went with it is because it's three chapters long as apposed to what Treating Her Right became. A few things you should know about this fic, it's that it's more focused on the idea of having children as opposed to just deciding it and raising it like most fics do. It also raises the question of whether or not we're ready to become parents, a big step in anyone's life and how events from our past may make us doubt whether or not we're ready for such a tough responsibility.

Unlike most AppleDash fics, the couple is already married at the start of the story and happily so. Their love is expressed more in a different way, like that of an actual marriage that I based off of my mom and step-dad who've been married for 18 years. Love doesn't end at tying the knot, it keeps going and changes happen each day. You'll see in this fic how even through tough times of strife against one another, how much Applejack and Rainbow Dash really love another. I made it so that the story focuses equally on both characters. For Applejack, she's trying to achieve her dream of having a family while also trying to help Rainbow Dash with her doubts, naturally worried about her. Then there's Rainbow who struggles with an incident from her past that is convincing her that she isn't capable of being a good mother while fearing that she's hurting Applejack emotionally with her struggle.

And before people ask, no it's not a sequel to Treating Her Right, but really this can be the follow up story to a lot of AppleDash's the way I've started it out and all.

3. Why Am I Crying?
Summary: For as long as any of the Cutie Mark Crusaders can remember, Diamond Tiara had always been the biggest bully they knew. But when that said bully dies in an accident, each of them starts to go through their own experience in this sudden change in their lives. One will go through a trial of guilt, believing the blood of Tiara lies on her. Another shall lose her innocence as the prospect of death haunts her daily. And finally, one will wonder if it's wrong to feel no sorrow for such a mean soul lost, but how mean really was Tiara? Each will learn more about themselves and about the pony who they all thought they knew before she is laid to rest.

I've been meaning to do another CMC story for a long time, ever since I finished A Broken Bond nearly two years ago. This CMC story is not going to be a happy one, far from it at all. The idea came to me when I thought about my own previous experiences with bullies when I was growing up. Some of those bullies had reasons for acting the way they were and I kind of felt sad for them, none of them died (at least to my knowledge) but I haven't heard from them in years. So then I asked myself this question: Diamond Tiara pays an impact in the Crusader's lives, hell she's the reason they actually came together in the first place. If it wasn't for her, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle would have never stepped up for Apple Bloom's defense.

In a such a close knit town, losing a pony you see everyday can be quite the sudden change. It happened to me once in Middle School when a kid I knew since childhood that I was friendly with was killed by a speeding car. The day before that I was just playing football with him and then the next day I learn he died upon impact. That's something that changes you or affect you no matter where your level of friendship was. So what if something I experienced was to happen to the Crusaders. What if Diamond Tiara suddenly died? Would there be sympathy? Even mean, she was a child and had a family and friends that loved her just as much as any other. Did she even deserve such a fate despite being a jerk? Does anyone? What made her become the bully that she was and what was she really like? It's questions like these that will be focused more so on the Scootaloo sections of the story with a little bit of it on the Apple Bloom sections.

Another thing that this fic will talk about is the concept of death and forgiveness, especially in Sweetie Belle's sections of the story. I don't know about how other people's childhood were like, but between the ages of 8 and 10 I had been to over a dozen funerals for people in my family. It happened so often that I began to think death haunted my family for a purpose and began to feel scared of my own mortality. I thought long and hard about the concept death, the end, the final curtin. Was there a heaven or just oblivion? Would it be a peaceful release or would I feel every second of my soul being torn from by body? The story is kind of my childhood experience with death and my dealings with it and how it changes you, especially at a young age when your only just beginning to understand it. I give this to Sweetie Belle because I feel she's the most "innocent" and emotional of the three.

Forgiveness will be pressed towards Scootaloo and Apple Bloom, but the later will try to seek forgiveness for herself more, due to what she learns later on in the story. Out of all three of these stories, this is the one I really want to put a lot of effort into, so I hope it's going to be well liked when it comes out.

Those are the three stories and I hope I've captivated your interest into reading at least one of them.

All three sound interesting.

I look forward to all three of them but the last one especially.

All three of them sound awesome, but Why am I Crying? definitely takes the cake for the one that I'll be reading first.

I'm really looking forward to Foal. Why am I crying sounds really interesting. I've never seen a flutterspike ship, but it's you, so ill give it a shot.
