I stand by what I said, they should not make Twilight an alicorn unless the other elements become alicorns too. It ruins the balance of the elements and the whole point behind having 2 unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies. IT RUINS IT. The only way they could make a comeback from this is if they later made the other elements alicorns.
So basically what I'm getting from this is that the element of magic is better than the rest now and is more favored. Thats what it sounds like to me. So much for balance I guess.
Not to mention this is going to completely change how we think alicorn's are made. If Twilight can just "become one" Then what exactly is the limit? I don't know yet how they plan to have the alicornization happen, but it'll probably be something that celestia and luna bestow upon her. (Just a guess).
And why her? Why not the other elements too? What? Because she has great magic? Is that what makes and alicorn? A unicorn with a great magical power? Why the hell would it work like that if alicorns are more like a combination of the 3 races? What makes one element better than the rest? Why not Fluttershy or Applejack? They help and participate in the story of mlp as much as Twilight. As a matter of fact, Twilight's connection with the princess and magical prowess are the only things that make her character stand out from the others (In terms of being chosen to become an alicorn). So is that it?
Oh, and for anyone that feels like telling me to stop "Complaining" about Twilight becoming an alicorn.
I get to have my opinion and blog about it all I want and I'm not in the best of moods right now so FUCK OFF!
If you make one element an alicorn you should make the rest the same, or they better at least hint that they also have the potential of becoming alicorns too. If not then I'm calling bullshit. The elements are suppose to be balanced and this ruins that balance in more than one way.
Example: In the next hundred years, only the element of magic will be alive still. The rest replaced.
And no doubt the last lesson in friendship is going to be something like "There will always be more friends even after the ones you knew decay in the ground."

Thats not a lesson in friendship. Thats a tragedy!!!!!! I mean hell, look at Celestia. I'm sure she had friends in the past too. Now she spends all her time surrounded by guards and ruling Equestria. As a matter of fact, never ONCE in the show does it mention or even hint at Celestia having a friend.
*sigh*
The only way I could find joy in this episode now is if she is granted alicornization, and then gives it up so she can be with her friends. And heres hoping she does.
I'll probably warm up to the idea of alicorn Twilight after a while, but for now I'm just going to brood for a while. Sorry for the rant, I'm sure a lot of what I said is probably stupid, but as I said, I'm just in a bad mood.
I'm tired of people spoiling shit like this with their blog titles.

I think of it more like this; It's not because she is good at magic that Twilight is made princess, but because of her dedication, ability to lead, the ability to put oters before herself and so on that let's Twilight become an alicorn. She will still be the element of magic, and it's not because of the elements that she ascends, I dont think it will affect the elemtns because Twilight is still a unicorn at heart. In short I think she'll be made a princess for her personality, and not for her element, and that it wont change or unbalance the elements either way.
Edit: I'd also like to add that since it's not because she is an element she is ascending, there is no basis for the other elements to ascend. This belief of mine is only strengthened if you conside how increadibly few of the episodes are ever dedicated to them beeing elements. I mean even in during the Changeling invasion the elements didn't end up being the saviour of all.

this is always a touchy subject alicorns in general. i personally like the idea but i was always a fan of alicorns. now not everypony is i understand this and thats fine. i agree this will unbalence the elements but the sixth element is the binding one also known to be the most powerful. now this is just my opinion but i like this and saw it coming for a long time. but everyone has their own opinions and i respect those and i just wanted to put my 2 cents in :D.

767733 well i was just always a fan of alicorns i made 2 alicorn ocs in the past mostly just out of boredom. but one is in a story im making but thats just my personal preference. wether i saw it coming or not i will proly enjoy it. but if others dont like it then thats ok to. i have said this about stories many times before and whats a show but a visual story. i say that a story is what ever the author wants to make it its nice that authors want to plz there readers/watchers but they should make it what they want after all its their story.

As I've been saying a lot recently, these posts are taking little confirmation on the episode title as well.
So on that, the title is Magical Mystery Cure.
What this leads me to believe is either one of two things is about to happen.
This first one is less likely in my opinion, but still has to be said. It's that Twilight gets sick somehow with some life threatening disease and after many attempts, the only way to save her is to turn her into an Alicorn. I find this less believable because it is still just a kids show, and that'd be a little bit much in my books.
My second possibility is much more likely, and keeps more in theme with the shows lightheartedness. It's that some spell of Twilights or Celestias - or even Luna (possibly a reference to the book she was holding in the premiere) - goes awry, making them switch bodies. This goes on until the end of the episode where some cure happens to switch them back. Lo and behold, Hasbro get's their toy promotion, and the fandom stays happy. Mostly.
So really, I don't believe it much to worry about. They can be stupid sometimes, but I think they'll get this right for once.

The way i have been looking at it is this, Twilight and Rainbow Dash are the only two who showed extreme potential, when they were fillies, as to become more than regular ponies.
I do agree with the idea of making them all alicrons eventually, and that may be part of the next season. It would make it easier to come up with more episode ideas.
