MLE Chapter 12: Reunion · 3:41am Jan 16th, 2013
So, I was planning on uploading Chapter 12 of My Little Exalt today, as my birthday gift to you, my readers.
Then I got lazy over the weekend and played video games instead of writing.
Then I got distracted today reading some Dresden Files.
So, Chapter 12 won't be up today. (There's a possibility that I'll end up staying up late and uploading it in the wee hours of the morning, but I'm trying to kick that habit.) If I don't upload a story on a Tuesday, that also means that my schedule is almost guaranteed to prevent its upload until Friday. So, expect Chapter 12 on Friday.
That said, I really like how one of the scenes in this chapter turned out. It has some feels for Rainbow. It has Madame Pinkie. It has FIRE! And Twilight finally completes her initiation into the Terrestrial Circle of Emerald Sorcery. (I told you she'd get it soon!)
Rainbow looked away and didn't respond. "If it makes you feel better, I could try my hoof at some lesser divination; maybe we can see what Fate has in store for you?"
"You can do that?" When Rainbow looked back up, Pinkie was wearing a purple scarf and turban. The turban was decorated with a lavender gemstone holding some sort of feather in place, and golden crescent-moon earrings stuck out from underneath the cloth. Her leg had never left Rainbow's shoulders.
"Sure can!" Pinkie stood and trotted over to her saddlebags, sticking her head in. When she pulled out a few moments later, she held an opaque black orb in her mouth. Pinkie trotted back to Rainbow's side as the pegasus stared on in apprehension. Pinkie dropped the orb on the ground in front of Rainbow, and sat down with the orb between them. The top of the orb was marked with a white circle, and within the circle was a black infinity symbol.
"Go ahead, ask your question," Pinkie waved at Rainbow, urging her on.

With her tongue sticking out of the side of her mouth in concentration, she violently shook the orb for several seconds, before turning it upside down. Opposite the white circle on the top of the orb was a glass circle on the bottom. Words began to appear in the glass, as Pinkie read them aloud...
What is Rainbow's question? What is the answer given by the Infinity Orb? Only Madame Pinkie knows! 
I'm gonna go with "When do I get awesome magical powers like everyone else?"
