Secondly: Given that one of Keanu Reeves' most famous roles is a guy who regularly, expertly, and brutally uses guns, it would be surprising to me if Shadow does not use a gun by the end of the film!

I never heard Keanu Reeves in a voice animation, so this should be very interesting.
Honestly, I was kinda hoping that Scottie Ray (I think that's his name, i was thinking of the Voice Actor for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 2003 Shredder) would be the Shadow voice actor, but I think Keanu Reeves sounds interesting.
He's the last person I was expecting to voice Shadow, but regardless I'm interested to see how he'll perform.

Yeah. He might, however, end up jabbing a Chaos-energy charged pencil into the neck of one of Robotnik's robo-goons (they tend to be more allowing toward violence when it comes to robots). Or develop a surprise fondness for dogs. Or there could be a bait-and-switch joke concerning "dinner reservations".

Good catch. Yeah, plus he played one of the leads in the Bill and Ted movies, which is as far from John Wick as you can get. Perhaps they could have Shadow be so much faster than Sonic that he can even time travel under his own power. Or would that be too OP?

Indeed. Preferably a Chaos-energy charged pencil jammed in the neck of a giant robot (since they ARE fighting Robotnik, after all, plus kids' movies tend to be less squeamish about violence toward robots).
Definitely sounds like some really intriguing news.
Must say, this fits well. Given that Reeves is best known for playing a morally shady figure with a mysterious past who makes liberal use of firearms, to have him onboard as Shadow is oddly fitting.
John Wick as Shadow. Wow, that's surprisingly fitting. I wonder if Shadow will give as passionate of a speech as John did when he explains what his dog meant to him and how he's back now.

That would be too OP. Plus, The Flash and the Powerpuff Girls also used super speed to travel through time. Nonetheless, I wouldn’t be surprised if Shadow uses his super speed to travel through time ‘cause that’s what speedsters do.

The funny thing about all of this is that this isn't the first time Keanu Reeves is mentioned. He even made a cameo appearance in the beginning of the first movie with Sonic commenting that he's a national treasure.
