I get overwhelmed and am taking care of my disabled girlfriend, so I almost never check my feed anymore. Moderator Eldorado deleted a user's Ninjago crossover because it was (allegedly - I never read it) just the plot of the original TV show (allegedly - I never watched it) with all the characters swapped out for ponies, a direct violation the do-not-post rules. One half-informed game of telephone later, the user's fanbase and a bunch of other less-than-high-effort crossover writers kicked up this huge storm about how literally every crossover ever was now apparently at risk of being deleted by overzealous moderators who were "literally destroying the point of what Fanfiction represents" (an exact quote from someone's blog post, by the by, and believe me, there were loads of them).
The end result? A 100-signature change.org petition fighting for their right to flagrantly plagiarize with aplomb, complete with catastrophically poor grammar. Have to reckon Eldorado and co. are just gonna drop that one in the shredder.
Also, thanks to the inevitable post-hullabaloo crackdown, I am now significantly less confident in my plan to someday smuggle a Them's Fightin' Herds (RIP) fic onto the site. Well done, y'all.

Same here, really. I think I spent the entire first (and now only…) chapter of the Story Mode endlessly spamming Arizona's heavy stomp because it was the only high-damage maneuver I could consistently pull off as a first-timer.

Much, much worse than that, I'm afraid: last Thanksgiving, they announced that after the next content update (which is coming sometime in the next month or so IIRC), everything for Story Mode's getting cancelled except, like, a single stage backdrop originally meant for Chapter 2. In the time since then, it's come out that Modus concurrently fired all but 3 of Mane6's staff.
Long version: The archetypical post-crowdfunding potpourri of uncoordinated ambition drained their funds, the deal with Modus was meant to serve as a lifeline, the game underperformed for their standards (the would-be EVO 2020 exposure getting pulled out from under them didn't help), Modus tried to tread water by making Mane6 pump out DLC characters, it didn't work, and they opted to cut their losses.
Short, Trampoline-friendly-and-also-I'm-still-pissed version: Groovy, smashing, yay capitalism!
For what it's worth, Lauren Faust later tweeted that she hopes the rest of her story can still be released in some shape or form, but it wasn't in any official capacity and it's unclear if there's even a ghost of a chance that actually happens. In any case… yeah, it really freaking sucks.
