EqG:StH2 - Story Update #12 - New Year and New Chapter Sneak Peak · 8:59pm Dec 31st, 2023
Hey everypony!
I hope you all enjoy your holidays. I know certainly did. 
There is something I want to discuss. I want to apologize to everyone for waiting too long for each chapter. My life really got in my way a lot more than usual, leaving me little time to sit down and write a chapter. Even when I did have the time, I would either be too tired or less motivated to write after a day of stress.
I know there were some people telling me to just "hurry up and finish the chapter/story", but it wasn't as easy as you think. It is hard to juggle my personal life and my time on FimFiction. I know there were some on this site who can easily post one chapter after another, but I took my time on my story because I care for the quality of my story overall than for the sake of posting one chapter after another at a fast pace. If I were to do that, my story will suffer as a result.
That's why I want to write my chapter whenever I have the energy and motivation to write so that I can give you all the best story you deserve. If I were to try to rush myself to write a chapter, even when I feel tired and less motivated, my writing ability will suffer as a result. And when my writing ability suffered, it will affect the quality of my chapter. And when the quality of my chapter suffered, it will affect my whole story overall. And when it affects my whole story overall...
Do you all see where I'm going with this? 
I will acknowledge that I had been taking a lot of time in between chapters, despite that I only wrote seven chapters (prologue included) so far with over 47k words. That doesn't sound too bad and there's a lot of content already, but I felt that I could've done more. I know a lot of you are very patient with me, which I'm grateful, but at the same time, I felt like I was letting you all down. 
That was why I'm going to try to be a little better next year in 2024. I will try to write and post more chapters whenever I can (without rushing myself, of course) so that you all won't have to wait too long. And I will also try to keep you all in a loop a little more often whenever there's an update on the story.
Once again, I apologize to everyone for waiting a lot in between chapters and I hope that next year will be better.
Anyway, the next chapter is almost finish. There are still some things to write, as well as a few sections to tweak before it is ready to post. I know a lot of you are still waiting for this, so I will give you all a little sneak peak of what's to come.

The very next day, a lot of people were waiting around on the school grounds near the CHS building. There were senior students, families of senior students, and some staff faculty present, chatting with one another as they were getting ready for their school trip. Even the Equestria Girls were there with their families as they were talking excitedly about their graduation at Hoovaii.
Applejack was with her brother and her Grandmother, Big Mac and Granny Smith. But her younger sister, Apple Bloom was not present due to Spoiled Rich banning her from going on a trip; not that it matters since Apple Bloom was grounded anyway. Rarity was with her parents, Hondo Flanks and Cookie Crumbles with Sweetie Belle left behind due to the same reason as Apple Bloom. Fluttershy was with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Shy, and her brother Zephyr Breeze, who was only here to see his sister off. Pinkie Pie was with her parents, along with her three sisters, Maud, Marble, and Limestone. Rainbow Dash was with her parents, Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles, who were loudly cheering their daughter much to Rainbow’s embarrassment. And Twilight was with Shining Armor and Cadance, who were hugging her with proud smiles.
Sunset Shimmer sighed longingly as she leaned on an empty pedestal, watching her friends happily spending time with their families. While she was happy for her friends for having people come to see them graduate, something about seeing them made her feel lonely and left out. While she deep down knew what it was, she didn’t want to loudly admit that to herself. She shook those negative feelings away after reminding herself that she wasn’t alone because she invited a special friend over to see her graduate and she couldn’t wait to see her.
Speaking of her friend, Sunset has been waiting for her friend to appear for quite some time. She even checked on her phone a few times to see the time and even played some mobile games to pass some time. But even then, her friend had yet to show up, which made Sunset nervous.
‘She's running a little late,’ Sunset thought as she checked on her phone for the umpteenth time. ‘I hope she'll get here soon!’
“Why hello, Sunny!”

Also damn if they are going by Warp Ring is Sonic gonna have to scan all of them like in the movie?

Hey, hey! Don't put yourself down for reasons out of your control! As a fellow aspiring writer, I too wish to write my own stories, but unlike you I have even fewer reasons to not write anything.
I agree, it's tough to write when life gets you down, but you show that you care more about quality over quantity, and that's great! Continue with it, unlike most writers, you write with upmost care and that's what gained my respect for you, so don't worry about how many chapters you released during this year, because they show how much dedication you have to your craft and I believe that's what matters most of all.
Keep going and do your best! Have a Great New Year! And to a better year tomorrow!
I completely understand, Sonicfan, more than you think. We both have issues we're working with but focus on those who truly love and appreciate your work, there's absolutely no rush.
Speed isn't the point, quality is the point.
I've also been struggling with my own story, my writing, and feeling as if I'm letting everyone else down too...
But hopefully this year I am going to rebuild my writing skills, and let's both help each other on our journeys. :) I wish you all the best with your writing, Sonic and Happy New Year! :D
