All I Want For Christmas Is My Two OCs... · 6:43pm Dec 26th, 2023

Yesterday, in the chat server... I had a little Christmas.

I've got the postal dropbox, still. (The address, along with my Amazon wishlist link, are pinned in the server's #p-o-unboxing channel.) I always ask for postcards, because it's nice to have those little pieces for Proof Of Life coming in from all over the planet. Evidence that y'all are out there. And I just like getting postcards. And holiday cards, and sometimes people send in little bits of torment. Like powdered crickets.

Or... other things.

Sometimes they send crystalized dream.

Yesterday was Christmas. At 8 p.m. EST, I started opening pretty much every single thing which has arrived at the dropbox over the last year (minus advents). I offered thanks to everyone, wished for stronger words, knew at least one person was going to try torturing me, and verified it because someone sent:

...@$#%ing running gags...

Then I reached Harwick's package.

I did not know this was coming.

I'm going to shut up now.

The pictures are worth several thousand words.

And more than a few tears.

Harwick's Patreon.
Harwick's Ko-Fi.

Also, ArabianHorse's Grumpy Chicken.

I'm luckier than I deserve.

Merry Christmas! You deserve it all...

Well, those are flippin' gorgeous

Very awesome.

oOOOOOH. Miranda Rights and Ratchette! (And grumpy chicken.)

Awesome stuff. You deserve it, too!

Ratchette and Miranda turned out so well.

Ratchette was my own surprise interpretation of the character without first consulting with Estee, so if she ever makes it onto a cover design she may look different. The only distinct change I made from the broad description was to make the “spider eating her face” out of brass instead of steel just because I preferred the color against her coat. And of course the design is largely informed by what could be successfully printed at that size…

Capturing a paint shade for Miranda was a whole thing. She went from too light to too colorful to too black…

In any event, I’m glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for all your support and all of the stories you share.

Those are wonderful prints and such details! What a lovely gift! Congratulations, Estee!

Very nice work, Harwick! And a very thoughtful gift, as well.:raritywink:

That's beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us. Hope yall had a merry Christmas and have a better new year!

You know, I keep forgetting Miranda Rights' body and mane is that dark*. Honestly, it looks even darker because, possibly thanks to Georg's fic Police Navidad that features her using a Manehattan police pony in her place on the cover art, I had mentally headcanon'd her as wearing typical police pony attire, which naturally would make her not so dark all over. Not that I'm complaining at the Hitch-style sash and badge over Earth-style clothing. But it caught me off guard!

Phenomenal set of figures in any case. All that detail for Ratchette! Harwick is not just a Pony fandom treasure of talent, he's also a very kind soul.

* I would love if there existed a list somewhere of every fic Miranda Rights has appeared in, because she is just such an awesome creation and I always like seeing more of her. As she's virtually never a main player, you can almost never tell from the outside, alas.

Sweet!

Strangely, I always pictured Miranda as having a more camouflage-ish coat pattern. Like, with splotches of different colors. She looks badass, though, and Ratchet is adorable. On that note, the grass is green.

Awww! Such thoughtful presents, those sculptures! :rainbowkiss:
