Post new story with popular character, don't have them with the same character they're always with, get plagued with bad press. Not because the story is bad, but because I'm doing "the wrong ship."
I don't mind criticism. It's not fun, but it helps me get better, I require it for development. But getting downvotes without an offered reason or because they're that emotionally tied to a specific pairing that anything else gets flak is wildly unhelpful, and just plain frustrating. I wish I'd just get ignored if that's how they feel.
I don't ever want to ask for people to like my stories like some sad YouTuber, but I'll be damned if I don't garner dislikes more quickly than anything else.

You do seem to attract a freakish amount of hate, given how perfectly wholesome your ships are, even if they’re less conventional.
Unless it’s all just one hater with ten sockpuppets. Who knows?
Honestly it’s kinda why I don’t ever actually pay attention to the up or down votes. I pay attention to the comments more if it contains criticism then it’s ok, but if there isn’t any then I know for sure the downvotes are mostly just from those who just have different likes and shouldn’t really be made into such a big deal about. Personally for any author, just do you.
Shame. I have always enjoyed your stories.
Haven’t had time to check the story out yet but the fact that’s so lame. People should celebrate original ship not moan cos they’re not conventional.

Eh, don't let it get to you. Even though a lot of people claim that 'FlutterDash' has been played out, that doesn't stop me from reading and/or writing it.
I've read literally all your stories. Love everyone of them for a multitude of reasons.
From what I've noticed people are so attached to their likes that they will just hate anything that doesn't have to do with that and even if you want a reason why for them you will always be the bad guy.
Don't let this get you down you are an excellent writer and your crackships are certainly something refreshing.
Are you just assuming that’s the reason, or do you get messages? Because you’re also saying at the same time you’re getting downvoted without explanation.
