NaNoWriMo Update 1 · 4:31am Nov 6th, 2023
Hello everyone!
As the first week of November is done, I wanted to drop off the first update of the month! Here are my stats so far!
Words written: 8,493
Chapters started: 7
Chapters finished: 0
Emotionally: Feeling fantastic! I only cried once while writing, and it was for the emotions in the scene
Physically: ...I'm actually sick Gonna get some rest tomorrow, gotta stay well-rested to keep up with everything
Additional notes: Yeah, so...after I planned out the rest of the story, I foudn out that it's gonna take way more than 50,000 words to finish it all up Good news is, NaNoWriMo will get me a lot closer a lot faster than I could have anticipated, and the challenge has really given me something to look forward to. Really excited to show you guys what I've gotten done so far when it comes around to it.
See you guys on the next update! Let me know how you're doing with your own WIPs this month!
Good job so far! I hope you feel better soon!
How many chapters are planned? Don't push your self too much, there is no need to burn out. I mean as long it is a fun challenge all is well.
That's really awesome! And you have so much more planned, goodness gracious
I'm about 2,800 words in, myself, and I'm really struggling with plotting out scenes in advance. Any chance you'd be willing to share any tricks you use?

Hi! I use a Google Doc fancied into a storyboard. It works just like an index card outline. You can use it to put together an entire chapter or an entire story depending on how you use it.
Overall, I’m a bit of a planster, so I do just basic planning and let the story carry me the rest of the way. This happened just yesterday, actually, where I had an idea for what I wanted in a scene, but let the dialogue carry on however it wanted. What I ended up with was a heartfelt moment that touched on points I had not thought to touch upon previously.
I’d be happy to DM you the outline I made. If you want to try and create it yourself, I followed Abbie Emmons video “How to Write a Novel in Google Docs”.

I'd love to see how you've built your outline! And I'll be sure to check out that video, too.
Pony words! Many of them! Looking forward to them
Also, here's hoping you get better soon
