I realized if the story continues to follow anywhere close to how the actual show went and we go through season 8. Shining Armor and whatever the mare's name who replaced him was (Lemonscent? Lemonfresh?) would both end up exposed.
Shining Armor getting freed by a villain of all things.
Because when Cozy Glow sucked up all the magic of the world. Naturally it'd suck that bit up too. Reverting them both to their normal forms. Or at the very least all the enchantments on Shining would be erased allowing her to speak and act normally.
That'd be an interesting sequel to the fic. I'm not interested in writing it though, but I'd give it a look if it ever got written.
(Also I'm pretty sure if I tag the story in question all of you with it favorited or tracked should get this blog update...)
It would be an alternative version of a temporary break in the magic, to allow Shining a possible chance to escape it, but I think your Loopholes version was more creative.

I'm not sure if the magic would boot back up like that. I can see maybe the artifacts and the like regaining their abilities, but the drawing of magic would take AWAY the magic on a pony. Doesn't make sense with its return that the spell would just resume. I'm pretty sure you'd have to re-cast it.
