So last night, MagickMoonshot, one of the casters for LVT Halo, a grassroots partner for Halo Championship Series, posted this:
And now, less than 24 hours later, she's been dropped by all her sponsors, lost her casting gig with LVT, and has been dropped as Community Manager for Status Quo Esports.
And I'll tell you another thing, Magick; the religious nutbags that you now find yourself in the company of? I promise you a good deal of them want you in the kitchen cooking away for your hard-working husband like a good wife in the 1950's that they want to return this country to. That support isn't going to last. That fire will burn out very, very quickly.
So, at the end of the day, the score is as follows:

I don't know why a woman like this throws the religion crap in everyone's faces. I'm a believer, but to have people like this use it for their agenda makes me sick. People don't want to hear that crap. We want to enjoy playing video games, not be spoon fed something that doesn't merit our enjoyment of gaming.
Seriously, I believe an overwhelming majority of people in the gaming community want to just play games and get the best updates that gaming publishers want us to experience with.

I've already heard of a lot of horror stories revolving around the Catholic Church, and some of its inconceivable acts they've been trying to cover up. Stuff like this is the reason why my generation (millennial gen) has been severing ties with the religious institutions. I'm probably one of the few young people who still believes in God, but I condemn groups who weaponize religion for their sick monetary gain.

As a religious person, I don't get it. God and Jesus taught us to value, above all things, the 10 Commandments in the Old Testament, and then love and acceptance in the New Testament. Be a good person to those around you, even if you don't agree with some of their beliefs and ideas. Taking random quotes out of context and using extremely simple and vague wording to justify hatred isn't what we were taught in bible study, and I don't get how these people call themselves "true Christians" when they clearly didn't read the fucking book they think they're preaching from.

To be honest, I was actually bothered by the whole "made in God's image" line for a long time. It takes a big ego to just assume that we look like God, or that God looks like us.
But at the same time, that sort of analysis was always pretty surface level. The whole point of that passage in the Bible is to remind us of our shared humanity and to emphasize compassion for one another. And that just leads us back to the issue at hand. Jesus preached compassion, and Christianity is supposed to preach compassion and humility. In fact, go to the right churches and you'll actually find that. But when the cameras start rolling or the headlines are being typed, what we invariably end up seeing from Christianity is the preaching of self-righteous contempt. That and giving money to your megachurch pastor so he can buy himself yet another private jet, but mostly self-righteous contempt.
