AO3 Account + Helluva Boss Story

Hey all, just a bit of an update blog.

I've finally polished up my AO3 account after releasing my latest story there, my first one for Helluva Boss and my second non-pony story in literally years. I am very proud of it, so I encourage you to check it out. I blew through this story in a week, something I've not experienced for over a year.

Any Other Writers Going to CiderFest?

I'm planning on attending my first CiderFest this year, and I'm applying for a panel, there. I have a lot to say about platonic affection's importance in humans and its wide prevalence in the fanfiction of our fandom, being sort of a specialist in it. Ideally though I'd like to have one or two other co-panelists to help guide and create discussion both among the panelists and with the audience.

I Have My Own Website! Of Navels, Pressing Words, and Fictioneers · 12:45am Mar 13th, 2023

Henlo everyone, today is an exciting day.

Asides from This Episode of Bluey is Called, 'Beetlemoose' I've been very quiet lately. I'm excited to say that I can finally share and talk about why. :rainbowdetermined2:

For those unaware, my analysis blog, Worldbuilding Workout went on hiatus for a while after the newsletter platform I was using (Revue) ceased to exist amidst the ongoing Twitter dumpster fire. Because Revue was a service made specifically for Twitter it became collateral amidst Twitter's asinine new management decisions. Thankfully I was able to get my blogs in data form before the site went under.

This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as it became the last piece of motivation I needed to pursue creating my own website, something I've wanted to do for a while. A site to not only exclusively host my analysis blogs going forward but to host permanent copies of all my story writing across all the fandoms and websites I'm a part of.

Welcome to The Navel Cove, gentlemares and gentlecolts. :moustache:

Home, where buggos loaf and humans dynamically pose

Worldbuilding Workout, resurrected and better than ever

Use the 'Type your email' subscribe field to be notified via email to all future blogs—both Worldbuilding Workout and site news

Bookmarks allow you to continue where you left off on any story, and appear on the Stories page once they're created. They're stored via your browser/cookies, so no account creation required

Relevant commission artworks are in little tabs alongside chapter lists for a given story, and feature prim and proper artist crediting with links to their most known profile I know of

Stories are downloadable via the 'EPub' button on the story cover page (see previous screenshot), and become cute eBooks with the proper reading programs

It's important to note that while the site is launched and 'finished,' there are still things I need/want to do. I have more stories I need to upload when I have the time, and would like to add something else to the homepage (though not sure what, yet.)

For now, new stories can be followed by following me on Ko-fi (just following a creator is free, though it does require an account) or on Twitter, and Worldbuilding Workout can be physically subscribed to via email, as shown above. I may also continue to make brief notification blogs on here, at least for a while.

Credit and Thanks
Now while I did pour hours upon hours into story/chapter uploading, setting tweaking, and page setup, the real work was done for me long before I began building my site. This layout is a FIMFiction-inspired custom theme for WordPress called Fictioneer, created by Tetrakern—an absolute mad genius who eats coding for breakfast. Check out his extended documentation for how the theme works if you're curious. It deserves more attention.

Of course, I'm not the first FIMFiction author to set up a site under his work. In fact, the entire reason I found out about this theme was because of someone many of you may know very well: the RariTwi Mistress, Monochromatic. I stumbled upon Mono's personal site, the Hollow Shades, back in October of this past year, and it was excellent timing, as Revue died and killed my blog not a couple months later.

So a thanks to them both, they're the reason this site exists at all.

I'd also like to give a nod to the site's header and icon artists, Light_artist (whose work absolutely blows me away, and that I was more than happy to patiently wait in his queue for) and my friend, Lord Valtasar, who created both the site logo and icon.

Also, a cute buggo I know as Onesie. He too is a coding nerd and helped my math/symbol-challenged self set up certain CSS for tweaking things.

I will once again be creating Worldbuilding Workout entries bi-monthly or monthly starting in April, so make sure you're subscribed! :trixieshiftright:

Thanks again for reading and following, everyone~
