Hey you guys, I know I'm a bit overdue for uploading the next chapter of Renewal and thought I'd give you all a heads up as to why that is. Without going into gruesome, unnecessary detail I've been wrestling with some personal demons over the past year or so that finally - I hope - have finally been resolved as of today. The short version is that an employer at a barn I worked at a year ago crossed some lines and terminated me when he became aware I had documented some of those actions. The long version is that working there was arguably the least pleasant experience in my professional career and the process of reporting him to the EEOC for wrongful practices was a painful and slow journey that took a lot out of me, especially in recent weeks. Papers have been signed, meetings are over, and I finally feel like I can begin moving on.
Since publishing the last chapter, I've made some decent progress on the next one. That said, I need to give myself time to review what I've written and make sure I didn't gloss past anything important or do scenes an injustice because I was distracted. I'll be starting that process over this weekend and hopefully have the next chapter out within the next few weeks.
Thanks for your patience, everyone, and sorry I've been AWOL in the comments under the story. Fun part about stress is that it supercharges depression, and oh boy am I not talkative when I feel like an unmotivated blob.

I may not read your story but I can tell from the stats its rather well received which goes a long way in implying you put a lot of thought and care into it. Take your time don't rush something out just because you feel like life slowed you down and you feel the need to catch up. I said it elsewhere where my character count was a bit more restricted but through rough times it never hurts to reiterate positivity, so I shall say it again. You're a bright soul who radiates positivity and your spark helps light up others. Keep shining Ellie but don't ever forget to put yourself first.
