Three chapters left to write.
Re-reading through the first 8 chapters of Office Love was a hell of a chore, but I'm happy I did so that I could amend the tracks and push us back in the right direction.
Three big pieces of plot get resolved in this chapter. And frankly, I bet you it feels rushed. Maybe it's coming from a lack of passion or maybe its coming from a place where I'm rusty on how to properly write a story.
But frankly reading the early chapters felt like a struggle. And how much of it was just padded filler versus actually advancing the plot was a touch frustrating. Sure I maybe did a decent job at illustrating the environment, but some of the dialogue felt... well. hollow.
I hope this new chapter brings back the stakes, and can re-grab yall's attention. As I said. there's only three chapters left. And I want to keep them concise and focused. Which means I don't think I need to use "flashbacks" in order to resolve plot threads that I either thought I would address in a longer form story, or simply forgot to include.
Writing in serial and releasing in chunks is a mistake. I'm happy i've grown enough as a writer to look back and see my growth and what I would do differently.
Tense changes are still probably terrible in the new chapter though
also it was written on a mac so hopefully it isn't riddled with stupid typos
