Extra Life is an annual charity drive for your closest Children's Miracle Network Hospital (Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, in my case).
Most funds are raised on "Game Day" where participants attempt to play (and livestream) for 24 hours straight. Last year I made it just over 21 hours, playing nothing but the Halo campaigns.
Silver medals are awarded at $500 raised; gold medals at $1,000.

Last year, lol. The 24hr event is always held in early November, typically at the end of Daylight Saving Time. He's had about 3 months to get that well-earned sleep, or perhaps pile on the sleep debt.
