While I'm on hiatus, I'll be making blog posts detailing information on my Nine Elements fanfic universe. I'll start with Equestria itself.
In the time before time, there was a human named Megan Williams. One day, while tending to the horses on her family's ranch, she discovered two unusual creatures: one had the body of a horse, the legs of a deer, the cloven hooves of a goat, the tail of a lion, and a spiraling horn on her forehead while the other was a stallion with wings like an eagle. Both were a shade of pure white that made freshly fallen snow look grey in comparison. The female creature was a unicorn named Amalthea while the stallion was named Pegasus. Being the curious sort, Megan closely studied the mysterious creatures (with their permission after learning they could talk). She learned that Amalthea was capable of casting magical spells through her horn (alicorn as she preferred) while Pegasus could not only fly, but, physically touch most clouds and manipulate the weather in local areas. Megan feared that the wrong people would find her friends and exploit them for selfish reasons. She pleaded with her friends to find a world where no one could ever find them. Amalthea decided to take it a step further and create a whole new world, which she brought herself, Pegasus, Megan, and a heard of the ponies on Megan's family ranch. In this new world, the ponies could talk and possessed human-level intelligence. Amalthea chose to court a pony stallion, birthing the first fully equine unicorns. Pegasus chose to court a pony mare, who gave birth to the first pegasus ponies. All remaining ponies chose to remain simple and pure, though, the magic that permeated the air gave them greater strength and stamina than they had before. This new world was called Ponyland. Centuries later, it would be renamed Equestria. However, peace did not last long in this paradise, for several creatures would also make their way to it. Though Megan is long since dead, Amalthea and Pegasus live on, watching over the world they created.
Hey there. Thanks very much for sharing a bit of universe backstory here. Definitely liked the ties to G1. And I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of the G4 villains turned out to be descendants of the villains that made trouble for Megan and her friends. Or if Twilight and HER friends turned out to be descendants of some of the more major G1 ponies. Plus, the ties to the human world allows Equestria Girls to make more sense later on.
