I've been saying this for the past year or two. Television and cinema have been around for a couple of decades, the internet for about three. The world with all of its billions of people is smaller than it's ever been. There's increasingly more content, so we have a lot more celebrities than we ever did, and news travels easily. So yeah, you're going to hear about famous people passing away more and more often. More and more often, you're going to remember them fondly for what they produced.
Hell, I thought it was surreal when Sean Connery and Alex Trebek died two years ago, within days of each other. Anyone who remembers SNL's Celebrity Jeopardy skits would have, even though neither celebrity played those bits.
And frankly, it's going to hit me when Dan Green eventually passes.
