Queen Chrysalis' Tantabus, Art for A Kindled Beginning · 1:04am Oct 31st, 2022
Drawn by, you guessed it, the fantastic Mutter_Butter. We call it... Chrysabus!
It would stand to reason that strong enough magic, desires, and emotions could grow a mind of their own like Luna's Tantabus. What would one made of the Madness in Queen Chrysalis look like? My story explores that with "The Mistress". The monster behind the pretty face. Madness Incarnate
The Kindled series is unique in the way that its logic says Changelings are able to feast on more than just love to fuel their magic, but at the cost of being susceptible twice, maybe even thricefold to those emotions. In Chrysalis' case, she took responsibility of a tragedy that ruined the changeling kindom of old, thus making her life a never ending pool of anger, sadness, and overwhelming grief as she fed on hers and the rest of the changeling's horrid thoughts to spare them of it, unfortunately failing in that task and giving birth to her insanity and "The Mistress", her alter ego made real by changeling's innate emotionally driven magic.
The finale is coming up soon, so it was high time we gave our antagonist a little love. And pretty appropriate for Halloween, no? Hope you like it!
Also also, recently reworked my first audio chapter again. This will maybe be the final iteration of it. You can give it a listen in this link right here.
