Surviving while stranded in the Frozen North; a monumental task which drives many avid survivalists to their deaths. The constant blizzards and non-existent natural food supply make surviving impossible for the long term even for the most prepared and experienced survivor.
The horrible truth of the matter is most who are stranded in the frozen wasteland are the victim of unfortunate circumstance. When a rescue crew sent to extract a pony from a remote weather station in the Frozen North, the mission takes a turn for the worst when they are stranded in the deep snow in a valley deep within the mountains of the north.
In a race against time, the two survivors attempt to escape the icy grip of Mother Nature before the cold can reach them.

OCs only in this story for now, perhaps canon appearances later in the story. If this story ends up not being terrible, I'll probably have open room for anyone's OC who would like to have an appearance.

Is there any way you might lose sight of what is dream, and what is real? It seems that it is a common belief that within a perfect enough dream, ponies like to think it possible. However, how do you actually tell what is a dream and what is real? Is hardship a sign of reality, and perfection and happiness a dream? Perhaps it takes looking closer at the littlest things to tell what is what...

Despite the cover image, this story does not contain Luna or Celestia as the primary antagonist/protagonist. Was simply the best representation of the theme I could manage.

This is a VERY loose crossover with the game DayZ, simply using the concept of the game as a part of the story.

Rainbow Dash has had the dream of becoming a Wonderbolt since she was a little filly. When she joins the military so she can become one, she finds out what really goes on outside of Equestria. Instead of becoming a Wonderbolt, she is sent to fight with the Zebras in their civil war.

Apple Bandit, one of Applejack's cousins, has returned from military service after spending four years in Zebrica, which has been torn apart by civil war. He returned to the peace of Equestria harboring memories of a war beyond comprehension for most. This is how he copes with the stress of his life, with freinds, family and a little bit too much alcohol.
