During her battle with Starlight, Twilight is sent to multiple futures that differ from her own where she and her friends had saved the world from its many threats. But what if she wasn't able to escape from the villain who had taken over the world to get back to her own time? What if she had to fight them again, this time without her friends as she knew them?

All of Celestia's comrades from a thousand years ago have returned. She's happier than ever. But that loneliness always creeps back to haunt her thoughts

Starswirl believed that the land of Equestria had been at peace since he and the pillars had banished the Pony of Shadows to Limbo over a thousand years ago. Oh how wrong did he not know he was. Much less how one of the said threats was a mare that used to be one of his students.

After getting struck by the new bearers of the Elements of Harmony, Luna returns to her original form, stripped of the Nightmare. She knows that this woman is her sister, but where is she? Why can she only remember major events that have happened? How does she break it to her sister who seems so happy to see her again?

Written from Luna's perspective.

After settling down after their retirement, Celestia and Luna send newly crowned princess Twilight letters of their adventures together and of their retired life.
Formatted as an epistolary novel.
