Though few know it, the Elements of Harmony have recently taken a bit of an extended leave of absence from protecting Equestria. Of course, those that do know this either are aiming to keep this a secret, or to exploit this would be weakness. Though the latter are in for a surprise when they find that Equestria's new "protectors" are all the bit capable as their six predecessors, and are far more discrete in their ventures as well. Of course, nopony would believe that a quaint little honor guard going by the name "The Night Watch" could find and root out villainy, but as Lieutenant Static Strike is soon to learn, things are not what they seem.

Aliens seem to appearing out thin air. Aliens that tend to be magical. Aliens that are armed to the teeth. Aliens that really, REALLY, dislike each other. While Luna finds this as an ample opportunity to do hands on studies with alien behavior, Celestia's patience for them grows shorter by the minute. The Royal Guard have their hooves full soon enough, and shenanigans are inevitable.

As Discord is known for doing, he decides that things are too boring around Equestria, and due to this he releases a number of creatures into the world of ponies. These creatures are diverse for a number of reasons, but similar in one. They all hate Discord. And for the most part, each other.
