Blog Number 49: Bare Essentials Edition
Final NaPoWriMo Word Count: 50,911 words.
Blog Number 48: X Edition
Current NaPoWriMo Word Count: 41,042 words.
This isn't going as well as I'd hoped.
With only twelve days left, the writing has stalled, and with no sign of that resurgence I was hoping for. The novel itself has just completely stopped.
Blog Number 47: Deceleration Edition
Current NaPoWriMo Word Count: 37,406 words.
After a fantastic start, it's a shame things are slowing down. One should be realistic and pragmatic about this, but I am a bit saddened the original burst hasn't lasted.
In other news, 21 scenes left for my novel! If I did only one a day, I'd easily make it before the end of the year. Trouble is it's always the last few scenes that are the hardest to write. Figures.
Yeah, I use British dates. Haven't you figured out my nationality by now?
Blog Number 46: "Baby, You're A Firework!" Edition
Current NaPoWriMo Word Count: 23,065 words.
Blog Number 45: Time Trial Edition
National Pony Writing Month beckons once again, and I don't so much heed its call as camp outside its front door waiting to claim dibs. I took part in 2016 and 2017; it's proven a reliable way to kick-start my writing. (Just as well, because October was lousy).
Blog Number 44: Last Lap Edition
There's no point denying it any longer: Yes, I'm still writing. My self-imposed hiatus is officially at an end. It never really started, to be honest. Much as I wanted to take a break, after yesterday and what led up to it, I have to admit I can't.
I've spent nearly all this hiatus trying to write anyway. So why didn't I just admit it?
Blog Number 43: Questions of Quality Edition
Blog Number 42: Checking the Answering Machine Edition
Over the next few hours or days or however long I take doing it, I'll be going through the messages people have left since my last blog post and giving them a long-overdue answer. Much as I'd intended the hiatus to be a break, breaking off to the point of radio silence is a bit extreme and rather rude of me. So I'll at least give a few people their dues.
Blog Number 41: Indefinite Leave Edition
I need to take a hiatus. This is now officially the point when writing has ceased to be a pleasure for me, and has instead become a miserable experience.
Trust me: at no point did I want this to happen. It just did, and I have to take a timeout at the very least, for my own sake.
Blog Number 40: "Stop and Smell the Roses" Edition
Hello once again, my fellow writers! Impossible Numbers here with a minor update on my progress.
True, May could have gone better: 28,369 words written in total last month, and no stories published. At least I think I know what I'm doing wrong; in my haste to keep up the standard, I've been neglecting an important principle of mine...
