That's the thumbs up/down on this site, not the ones on your hands, silly
Today it's been two years since I first posted Fillystata on deviantArt. Fillystata was my first ponyfic and my first major piece of writing that I ever completed. I never imagined it would become a trilogy of sorts, and I certainly have come a long way since. So today I thought I'd celebrate this thing that I've somehow produced over the past two years.
Have a bunch of updates in celebration! ^^
On the 27th, it will be exactly two years since I first posted Fillystata to dA. Two years since my first pony fanfic and the first major piece of written work I ever finished. That's a little less than two weeks from now. Since I missed the date for my first pony drawing, I thought I'd make something special out of this event instead.
Are you excited? Huh huh huh?
Well, I sure am! Because I've been wrestling with this bloody stubborn story for weeks, and it finally gave up the fight and surrendered! Hah! That'll teach it to mess with me!
Incidentally this is why actual writing has been slow from me. Now that I've worked out this beast of a story, I should be able to actually start writing stuff again. Hopefully.
It is such a strange and mixed feeling to finish a major story. Sitting here and thinking of it, I just don't know what to feel. For eight months I've been working on II. It ended up my longest story yet, with 26 chapters and 100k words, which equals more than 300 book-sized pages. That's a real, honest-to-goodness book, which to be honest makes me want to squee a little bit
I had hoped to finish the next chapter of II today, but then Thingsā¢ happened that I'm sure I don't need to mention here since the whole Internet is already overflowing with it. In short, it is mighty distracting.
Anyway, I think I can now begin to see the end of this story (II, that is). Without making any promises or the like, I suspect there are about 5 chapters left. That's the minimum at least, it might be a couple more, but I expect something like that.
I did a small edit of the three chapters so far of II. Nothing major, mostly just tweaking Frostfell's voice to be more Scottish ... reading The Wee Free Men has helped me a lot with her :D Anyway, I wouldn't think it's enough to be worth rereading the story if you already read it, I just wanted to point out the voice change so it doesn't cause confusion later on.
