I got my first look yesterday at MLP: TM. There were certainly a lot of differences between it and the series, from the animation style to certain aspects of the story. I guess there's nothing wrong with that per se, but many aspects of the story left this old guy feeling uncomfortable, like I was being reminded that this film was made for a much younger audience. I guess it would be very hard to make a movie about an invasion for younger children, but I felt a bit cheated.

I discovered just yesterday that a favorite ongoing story that I've been following has been declared complete. Normally, that would be a good thing, not of course because you want to see it end, but because of the sense of achievement that the author must feel. But unfortunately, the ending that we got was actually because of lost interest, and changing circumstances which forced an obviously premature conclusion.

On a slow day last week, I reviewed the full list of the episodes from all seven completed seasons to get a count of how many I hadn't seen, or hadn't seen all of. Found out today that life is going to get quite a bit more complicated. It appears that I'm looking at some medical issues, the kind that come from reaching a certain age. I guess it's not worth getting too worried about, but life will never be the same. All I can say is, enjoy your youth, cause it wont last forever.

Just yesterday I finally took a new look at what I've got so far on my story's final final chapter. Did you ever come back to your work after a hiatus, and just say "....yuck..."? This is a new experience for me. I guess some revisions are in order.

Was reading the comments section of a clopfic (which I am prone to do before deciding whether to go further) and I was struck by a passage that hoped somehow for cosmic justice. I have seen several stories over my time on this site that left me wishing for the same thing, which is hardly a comment meant for all clopfics. But let's face it, some of those stories are pretty hardcore.
