Second Thoughts and Other such Things · 2:56am Aug 5th, 2018
As some of you may have noticed, (though thankfully not too many of you) I recently pulled down one of my blogs. It wasn't much, though I put a lot into it. It was my attempt to talk at least a bit about what seemed to me to be a rather nasty sounding story. But it seemed a bit much for me to take on. Lord knows I am in no way an expert on much of anything, and I have no business giving advice.
Looking at some of the stories here though brought another question to mind, about ratings. I wonder what most people use as criteria for thumbs up or down. I have seen many stories with thousands of readers (or at least people who have looked at them) and just a few hundred thumbs up or down. Some of it probably depends on just what readers think that thumbs up or down actually mean. I generally think that if I like a story, a thumbs up is the least a story deserves, and If I'm especially impressed, a comment is in order. And of course, many readers are probably waiting to see how a story concludes to give a rating, which of course is perfectly reasonable. I guess there's no one right answer, as long as at least part of the story is actually read. I'm curious. Anyone want to tell me how you do it?
