Well, I guess that after all this time, I have accomplished something. The only question is...what. It exceeds 20,000 words and has a beginning, middle, and end. But, that said, it has some continuity errors, and stretches my imagination almost too far. And one thing is perfectly clear, I really can't edit this monster myself. Yikes!

I thought that it might be a bit unreasonable when the writing guide mentioned watching all the episodes repeatedly, but I have discovered that certain parts of what I'm writing are stepping on the canon. Unfortunately, doing more research is hard to work into my schedule. I truly do appreciate the effort that all of you put into this thing called fan fiction. It's certainly not easy at all. And eventually, I'll still need to solve the editing problem. Yikes!

I find myself now having to rewrite a rather amusing scene from my first story, having violated one of the rules. Thankfully, I caught it before anyone else, so no one had to red flag me. And in truth, it was a dumb mistake. But it is a pity, as it contained one of my most amusing scenes, and it will be a challenge to replace it. But I do understand the necessity, and throwing in what would be necessary to comply with the rules wouldn't be true to the characters. So, back to the old drawing

I have no idea what sort of process a lot of you guys out there go through to create a storyline, but my first effort has definitely been a learning experience. The process I've used so far consists mainly of starting with a general idea of the plotline, and then fleshing out various scenes in no particular order, running mainly from inspiration to inspiration. I took a moment yesterday to put together a list of subchapters in order to get a sense of my progress, and how far I still have to go.
