(see what I did there?) Celestia came to me, and the resulting argument had unintended, painful consequences. I had done wrong...but I worked to right the wrongs.
Its good... I would say would make a good show as it was but knowing what its actually supposed to be like I have no idea whats going on. well I know whats going on but I am lost as to what happened. Is this AFTER a set point in the show? is it like a AU of the show where before Nightmare Moon comes down? I have no clue I went back re read the first chapter looked at the Author notes I can't figure it out.
Chronologically speaking, its between seasons 2 and 3. However, I bypassed Nightmare Moon's release in the first episode. The Summer Sun Celebration went off without a hitch that year, Nightmare Night was normal, but other than that, everything happened the same way, with the mane 6 bonding as friends at or shortly after the party.

Interesting take on the story, that instead of hating Twilight, who is totally twisted back on her own ideals, you attack Celestia for being a little twerp with a bad attitude.
Dashie was the element of loyalty. So, obviously, she would try to defend her friend over what happened. By the time they get back, the resistance came and went, and Rainbow had an example made of her. It was kind of the best way to eliminate her for plot-related reasonings.
Trottingham is outside of Equestria, correct? I wanted to keep it contained, instead of World War-esque fighting going on all over the place. I would lose continuity trying to keep track of everything then.
If the writers got high...then all of Hell would break loose, and we would be running for our lives. Not to mention bronykind as we know it would be lost.
Anyway, all I have to say is...Wait, WHAT? Because Trixie is clearly laughter. Clearly. Nevermind the insane logic that got us to this point. As for Nightmare's continued existence on the moon, I have an idea. What if Nightmare simply cast an illusion of herself, or possibly Celestia herself did it to help the Bearers meet? That would explain how she literally gave not one shit about the danger Twilight was in.
I tried to make the new elements make some sense, which way limited me. The only thing that might make more sense is to have Pinkie be the only one to keep her element, give Shining Loyalty.
Trixie is laughter because being a showpony is about trying to make people happy. So it kind of relates.
After S2 ... then why is Luna on the Moon? Is there a story that you have out that I need to read before this one? And why are all the Elements of Harmony different from what Twilight remembers? Did she end up in another universe / have one of her time spells back fire on her again?
This is Alternate Universe. Two major things have changed.
Firstly, Nightmare Moon never came down from the moon when she was supposed to, because all the related events happened a little later than it was supposed to.
Second, the Elements have detected a fundamental disharmony in Twilight, causing them to rearrange into the order we have now.
Follow?
Also, I'm just going to add, not to be derogatory, but just this statement.
I already mentioned the part of Nightmare Moon's timing atleast two or three times in the comments.
I'd mention that Shining would make more sense as the element of loyalty, but that's already said and done. Looking forward to the story's progression.
On a side note, reading this is helping me write a story more than it should...stupid Midnight and his stupid technology...
I was inspired by Into the Black: A Mare's Tale for most of my war-related things, such as body armor and tactics. I simply adapted it to my own uses, such as the magic-dampeners. The twin swords and the ethereal torture sword spell are from another story, but I couldn't remember the name of it so I couldn't credit them. In that however, there is two fundamental differences. While the ethereal sword does no body damage in both, in the other story, it would sear them from the inside out. So, I made it attack their souls instead. The twin swords were adapted from a sword-and-dagger combo that Twilight used in that same story when she was in battle. I figured that, while sword-and-dagger tactics are more varied than twin swords, twin swords are a little more boss and easier to defend with. But thank you for allowing me to inspire you, in turn, as I have been inspired. Everything adapted pretty easily to my needs, so hopefully it further adapts to yours.
P.S. I'm still looking into changing the order, so I might flip them around like you suggested. It does sound better. I'll find a good setup, not to worry :D EDIT: I like this new setup a lot better, Shining Armor can now be kept closer to character, which makes a little easier writing.
yay longer entry for once?

I completely agree. This could happen. If the writers got high or something.

I was just referring to your picture. Lol
2492732 i know >:D
Over used pun is over used

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

What about Trottingham?Equestria's allie A.K.A. ponified U.K.?

Haha, indeed.
OK ... I need to ask.
1)Why does Twilight know that the Element bearer's are incorrect, yet Pinkie thinks that all the wrong ones are correct?
2) What in the hell does Twilight mean by Dashie's death is her fault? And that if she didn't confront Tia she'd be alive?
and
3) I still don't get how Dashie died ... it was really unclear on what happened to me.

Also, congrats on the title. It sounds like something Zecora would say. ...It just seems to rhyme to me.
2498655
That was kinda what I was going for.
2498268
Because this is after S2. Twilight knows how things are supposed to be. Pinkie knows how things are now.
2498490
What do you mean? I dont understand either of your questions.
Why did my email not inform me of this update?!?
