Why do I feel like Leone has a plan of genocide to get what she wants
After having finally caught up after a week of binge reading, I’ve gotta say, this story is an absolute underrated gem! So much has happened within these past 300k words that would take some other stories close to 1mil to achieve, and all the while being well paced at that! Leona’s certainly come a long way from juvenile petty crime necessitated from living under a crippling economy. Her subsequent rise to power where she utilized her unique knowledge and skills to grab the world by its balls was an absolute thrill to read! Despite the admittedly gruesome war crimes committed along the way, I couldn't help but root for this psychotic yet caring (to her friends and family) griffoness, and her psychotic yet caring (to her friends and family) wife. There’s just something about their characters and interactions with each other that make them such a charming power couple!
The worldbuilding and dynamic characters have really brought this story to life, and I’m absolutely hooked! I can tell there’s some veiled eldritch machinations going on that have yet to be revealed, which is both exciting, and disquieting. The repeated mention of Lovecraft’s eldritch horrors in the story has got me a tinge nervous for leona, I won’t lie, especially with the yellow king apparently having some connection to her (which I’m assuming has something to do with her birth father, as he shares the same name as the yellow king, Hastur, or perhaps that’s a red herring.) Only good things can come of this, I’m sure.
Now that Leona is exploring the greater world beyond The Syndicate and Equestria, I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see what the Zebra Archipelagos have to offer! How’s Leona gonna go about achieving her plans whilst dealing with a people that she’s never encountered before? (beyond zecora and Sinan of course) How will their dealings and interactions influence the relationship between their countries? Only time will tell, I suppose. Keep up the phenomenal work!
