Oh, they will most definitely learn of the other main factions eventually. And will know that most of them are a variety of "bad/evil" ( In the ponies view at least. ) that any MLP Villains will NEVER compete or compare.
But then again, you can't hardly blame any of them for their "dark/evil" ways ( Except Chaos, Dark Elder, Tyranids, Orks, some Necrons, mostly pure dark/evil humans, some bad and egotistical Elders, Tau Ethereals, etc.., ), because the galaxy is really f******* up already.
P.S. Speaking of MLP villains. How did they take care of Starlight, Chrysalis second attack, Shadow Pony, Storm King/Tempest Shadow, and Cozy Glow without Rarity?
11455607 It seems more like, given what was said, Mother's barrier cleansed the worlds and rendered them barren.
It's actually rather ingenious. Make anything inside the barrier not worth the trouble of trying to break through it, by making anything at the edge useless, thereby protecting anything further in.
It won't work against anything overly curious or determined, but those beings would be few and far between.
Hmm...pink miasma seeping from the eyes. Me thinks that may have a little to do with the influence of the Changer of Ways, or maybe the Prince of Pleasure.
On an unrelated note, I can only imagine Fluttershy setting down on a world where the Tyrranids are attacking, she uses The Stare on the Swarmlord and its effect ripples through the hive mind, turning and entire hive fleet docile.
11456455 Well, yes, but on a logistical side of things, there's no point spending resources on a seemingly barren section of space, especially if there's some manner of barrier around that section of space.
Would you A: Try to figure out how to break through a very strong barrier, blocking a seemingly completely barren part of space, which could contain anything from - what you figure given the evidence - a highly likely extremely deadly species, a less likely but still likely extremely deadly pathogen, or an unlikely resource. B: Leave the barrier alone and instead focus valuable minds and resources and time on repelling xenos, purging chaos, exterminating mutants, and rooting out heretics and traitors.
Dunno about you but if I was in any position of power I'd leave the damn barrier alone :p

Equestria is surrounded already by Barren Worlds?
Sounds like Something really had a go at them and took out the surrounding sector almost to Nova War levels.
That is, unless those barren systems are whats left After all the quality stars were detonated to cleanse the region.

Let's hope that those worlds her mother cleansed were uninhabitable. Otherwise I can't stop but see her as a worst vilan than any G4 Vilan combined

It doesnt come up in the story, but they were already barren.
