She's supposed to skip out mid-fight. This would be written off as because she is pissed off that the Mane 5 and Celestia didn't trust her and yet they believe they're entitled to her help in the Changling invasion

now that's not entirely fair. there's a lot more to hate about that episode than that.

Oh, I know there's more. The absence of Luna (Who, let's be honest, would have sided with Twilight initially because she was smart enough), the absence of the Royal Guards to watch outside the bubble and meet the changelings head-on before they broke the shield, the blunt hatred I have for Celestia because she didn't even believe in her star student and instead just took the idea of 'migraines and 'pre-wedding jitters' upfront. It's just that the Mane 5's betrayal is the one that particularly ticked me off.

I would have been much happier if they just did a single episode and introduce Chrysalis in a different episode in a different way

And I only just realise about these events after returning as a Brony in 2013 before season 4 came out, now the episode won’t get out of my head no matter how many times I try and want to forget it
