Over the mountains or through the swamps... I would probably take the swamps IF there was a road. And it wasn't the rainy season. Otherwise, hard pass. Swamps are awful for wagons.

Originally it was a little bit shorter, a few paragraphs, but my editor as well as my pre-reader told me there has to be a better way to let it finish. Glad you liked the whole scene though. Gave me some troubles to write it with the mix of emotional stuff as well as being kirin-naughty + mixed up of motherly care+authority.

Me too! When I told Clarke I want a landscape picture with only a minor detail about characters this time he was very excited as well. He even pulled a Bob Ross moment He gave me preview of the unfinished work and it had no trees in the foreground at all.

You could say that this Game of Shakirin-La Throne really is a Dance with Dragons. Now it's gonna be inevitable that this Storm of Swords will ger rather violent and I have no doubt it will be A Feast For its many Crows.
