Marilynne is torn from her world by creatures she's never even dreamed of and must come to terms with the fact that she will never be able to return home while she, Twilight, Spike, and her new companions must find a way to destroy Grogar.
It's not often I read a story where I feel compelled to post my feelings and opinions on it. As so far, the author's writing style is quite good and clearly expresses the main character's feelings and fears. And Mary is very afraid.
What got me to post is how...rapey the Equestrians come across as. There is no actual rape going on, and the characters are actually being flirty and fun. However, the main character is so touch-averse that the affections of the other characters have a creepy feel to them. If this is what the author intended, they did a damn good job.
The story has captivated me, mainly because of the main character's attitudes. In other stories I've read, humans transported to Equestria always seem to adjust to pastel pony world easily. Or they're more annoyed than afraid. This story is very different, and it has caught my interest.
10121012 That's... kinda the point? I want them to be portrayed as much more open and giving, the ponies especially, about sex, and sexuality, while Mary is very much repressed (with others) and has her own reason as to why she's averse to it, which will come out in snippets later. Not so much rapey as much as they're used to how things are, and how most creatures on Equus act when it comes to relationships of any kind, especially of the physical variety, and Mary absolutely is not.
Wow really compelling chapter and story so far. I'm glad Mary didn't just take to being somewhere that's not Earth like it was just another day and par for the course kinda thing. I feel bad for Mary but I'm actually happy she freaked out at first. Some HiE stories will have the MC come to terms w not being on Earth almost instantly; you know unless they're falling out of rhe sky bc then it would be very understandable if you were terrified lol.
All right I enjoyed the series and not only that I'm so happy that you bring this one species in it's actually one of my favorite species that ever lived you could say I'm somewhat a professor in the species of Kobold give me facts or knowledge mean to know about them let me know I also hold the title of the only person who has a separate hard drive dedicated of 400,000 pictures of kobolds so yeah I'm highly obsessed with them they are adorable and they should be protected.
