The Accident

HI! Thanks for checking out my first fanfiction! It's super weird, I know, but it's my younger sister's idea. I dunno when second chapter will be out because I have school and all but hopefully it'll be out soon!
I couldn't upload the cover art I made so it'll have to do without :(

"Now your book is good as new! Just when you leave, be--"

"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOOUU!!!" Twilight roared into Zecora's ear.

Then with a swift of telekinesis, she grabbed the book off Zecora's hoof and squeezed it hard like she squeezes her BBBFF, AKA Shining Armor. By her side, Applejack and Rainbow Dash, whom Twilight has no idea why they decided to tag along, snickered as quiet as they could muster.

Then they wandered off, browsing all the amazing and super potions Zecora had, before Twilight could hear them. Who knew a zebra with a simple small hut could have such a vast range of astonishing potions with amazing abilities? thought Rainbow. That's, like, so AWESOME!!

Suddenly, a familiar, high-pitched cheeky voice appeared out of nowhere. "WOOOW!! Zecora's, like, some kind of SUPERHERO!!"

All 3 ponies and zebra jumped. Pinkie, somehow popping a head out of one of Zecora's baskets with magic petals, turned a bottle on her hoof and read out loud: "'Foal Again. This potion gives you a brain of a foal for 48 hours'. THAT'S SOOO MAGICAL!!!!" she then screamed, just as Zecora snatched the bottle off and placed it on top of another shelf.

"Yes, magical indeed, but who knows? It could lead to jeopardous results! I can't take the liability of anypony getting lacerated! Twilight screeched. Everypony and zebra stared at her with a confused expression.

Applejack was the first to pipe up "Say what?"

"Let's.. just go home. Thanks for all your kindness and help, Zecora. Come on everypony, let's go." They all waved goodbye to Zecora and left.

"Didn't that potion that Pinkie read sound so COOL?!" Rainbow questioned loudly.

"Yes, it is nice but what if--" Twilight began.

"Don't you start being so afraid all the time! At least be positive!" Twilight just sighed. "I mean, I know Zecora's some zebra with super awesome potions that do astonishing things but I didn't know she had one that converts your BRAIN into a FOAL'S! Isn't that magnificent?!" Rainbow rambled on, flying into a loop and crashing into a tree branch.

"Anyway, let's quickly get home before it gets dark!" Twilight said, glancing at the sky.

Rainbow peeled her face off the branch, two leaves on top of her mouth like a moustache. "Totally. I NEED SLEEP!"

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH was the noise Twilight woke up to in the morning. She removed her face off her pillow, looking more tired than she ever looked before. She had to stay up late last night because the library looked as if it exploded but without damage. Apparently Spike was given the job to take care of Fluttershy's animals while she was away but they got into mischief, escaped Fluttershy's hut and burst into here. The poor baby dragon was EXHAUSTED. He's still asleep, even after that scream that possibly startled the town awake.

Twilight rolled over on her bed and looked out the window, checking to see what trouble has occurred. Ponyville looked peaceful and beautiful as a bright sun splashed light in every corner. Nothing looked wrong. In the corner she saw a pegasus munching madly on a doughnut whilst soaring through the sky.

Just as the half asleep lavender unicorn tucked up to doze off again, ignoring whatever might be going on outside, a certain blue pegasus with a rainbow mane burst through her door and smashed into the bookcases, all the books toppling on top of her. This frightened the life out of Twilight and she fell and banged on to the floor. "SERIOUSLY?! I JUST TIDIED THAT LATE LAST NIGHT!!" yelled Twilight.

Ignoring the unicorn's very rude welcome, Rainbow Dash poked her head out of the pile and started screaming "MYNEWESTDARINGDOBOOKISRIPPEDANDDAMAGEDANDINEEDYOURHELPTOFIXIT!!!"

Twilight shook her head "What the who the where? WHAT'S GOING ON?" Not bothering to repeat her description of the scenario, Rainbow just held up her Daring Do book.

Twilight gasped hard until her lungs were tiny. She could NOT believe her eyes. The front cover was ripped in half and many pages inside were either scrunched up or chewed on the edges. The back cover was no longer existent. "What...happened...to it?"

"Well, you see, I was reading it and re-enacting the scenes when I accidentally dropped it, and you see, books don't stay on clouds, so it fell through. It ended up in a park and it took me forever to find it because some dog was messing with it and it ended up being stuck in some bush. The book, not the dog. And.. you know the rest."

It took Twilight no longer than half a second to realise the solution. "Let's take it to Zecora. Remember her book restoring potion? She can use it on your book as she did on my book!"

Rainbow Dash suddenly had a huge victorious grin slapped across her face. "Yes!! Oh, THANK YOU TWILIGHT!!" she hollered, flying up to give Twilight a huge hug.

"Now come on! Let's go."

Once Dash's book was mended, her smile was vitally huge. She was then bouncing up and down like Pinkie all of a sudden and was squealing. Again, out of the same basket, Pinkie Pie's head popped out as she whooped "HOORAY!! Zecora did it again! She helped another pony in need with her WOW potions! She's AWESOME!" Then the crazy pink party pony also began bouncing up and down. Zecora and Twilight just shook their heads.

Five seconds later, a bottle on Pinkie's shelf fell off from all the mad bouncing. Twilight was too late to realise this and thus couldn't save it. It landed with a CRASH. On top of Rainbow's head. She very abruptly stopped. Her eyes were blank. The contents were dripping off her mane. Then THUD! The pegasus collapsed.

Twilight, Pinkie and Zecora gasped and rushed over to her. "Is she OK? Will she be OK? Oh PLEASE let her be OK!!" Twilight shouted to the zebra, near tears. She glared at Pinkie, who slightly blushed in embarrassment. Rainbow's eyes slightly opened and her pupils shrank at the sight of terrified ponies and zebra.

Then she burst into a series of crying, her voice sounding like a foal's.

For your first fanfic, I think this is a nice start for the most part. Keep it up.
Also, while I get that her friends are suppose to take care of her, you should bring in RD's parents for help; that's assuming you haven't thought of that already.

Interesting story idea! I just don't understand what the bit with the Daring Do book had to do with anything, as if it were better if that were left out and you cut to the point where the potion lands on Rainbow's head. It is going to be a lot of fun seeing how she reacts now!
