Chapter 1: her fear

Fluttershy was a normal pegasus, though if you ask any pony in Pony Ville, they would say she was a goddess,not only was she possibly the most beautiful mare in Equestria and beyond,but she was also definitely the kindest, and most caring one too, however, she had a teensy little problem;She was the shyest pony as well.But luckily, she had the best friends who would help her with her shyness, these friends were Twilight Sparkle,Applejack,Rarity,Rainbow Dash, And Pinkie Pie.One Day the pegasus was playing a game of truth or dare.

"Alright Dashie, truth, or dare?" asked Pinkie pie

"Dare," said Rainbow dash spreading her wings bravely

"I dare you, to go a whole day without reading one Daring Doo book"

"WHAT?!ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Rainbow dash said as her wings drooped

"Well, can you do it or are you a,....." pinkie pie changed into her chicken costume that she wore the one nightmare night before the previous one, "Chicken?"

"I am no Chicken"

"Well then let's get going Dashie, I'm going to be watching you"

"I can't believe I have to do this"

"Well, that's what you get for always picking dare" sighed Rarity while she was brushing her mane

Twilight frowned slightly, she didn't think it was right to stop a pony from reading, but she also agreed with Rarity, so she just said nothing.

"Well,I better make like a chicken and split," said pinkie, before making chicken noises, she then dashed to the cyan Pegasus.

"Twi? truth or dare?" said Applejack

"Truth" she answered

"How are things going with you and Flash?"

Twilight blushed, she should have seen this coming

"W-we're fine, he's a really nice,...uh,......friend" Stammered the Purple Alicorn,trying to make her blush stop

"Fluttershy, Truth or dare?" asked Rarity

"Um,...Truth?"

"would you prefer Emerald? or Shamrock?

"um,.....Shamrock?"

"Oh Good, that's the color of the dress I made you," said Rarity using her magic to bring out and hold a gorgeous shimmering shamrock-green dress, that had lotuses going around the waistline, and the chest part had pink lining going around the edge

"Oh Rarity,It's Beautiful" exclaimed Fluttershy

"Why Thank you, darling,I thought it would be nice for you to wear if you go on a date," said Rarity with a smile

Fluttershy blushed"Oh,um,......m-maybe"

"Right well Rarity an' I have to get goin' ," said Applejack as she and Rarity started to walk home.

Fluttershy and twilight waved goodbye,Fluttershy then look at the EverFree forest,she felt a shiver go down her spine, she was terrified by the thought of just setting hoof in there,though at the same time, she really wanted to face her fear.

"Fluttershy? are you ok?" asked twilight with worry in her eyes

"Um,.....I-I,......"

"It's your fear of the forest again,isn't it?"

"Um,.....Yes,Oh I just don't know what to do, I don't want to run into any dangerous things in there, but at the same time,I don't want to be afraid of it" she whimpered.

"Well,No pony can blame you for being scared to go in there, but, why do you want to conquer your fears?","not that it's a bad idea" Twilight added hastily at the end

"Well, I thought that maybe, if I'm not scared of the Everfree,I could conquer my other fears and,I-I wouldn't be such a coward" tears were now forming in Fluttershy's eyes

Twilight put her hoof on her friend's back"You're not a coward, you're just,......more cautious than others"

"Then, why am I so afraid?I'm afraid of dragons and I faced one,I'm afraid of Hydras, and I escaped from one,I'm afraid of heights, and I have wings,I'm a failure of a Pegasus" she sobbed the last part

Twilight hugged her

"Fluttershy,It"s natural to be afraid,you don't need to face any more full-grown dragons,you don't need to face any more hydras, and you're not a failure of a pegasus,besides, it's not your fault you're afraid of heights,.....I was when I first started to learn to fly"Twilight whispered the last part softly, although Fluttershy could hear it.

"You-,you were?"

Twilight nodded"But as I got better at flying,I became more confident each day,and I know that someday, you will too"
Said the Alicorn looking into her eyes while smiling.

Fluttershy was no longer crying, but rather smiling as well,"Thank you Twilight, your such a good friend"

"Well,I never would have realized it if I hadn't met you,want me to walk you to your cottage so you're not scared?"

"Yes, thank you"

Though, as they started walking Twilight slipped in a brown liquid.

"Twilight! are you ok?"

"Yeah,I think I just slipped in some mud"

"Actually,I think that might be,...."

Twilight tasted it a little

"Chocolate milk?"

"What was that doing there?"

"Pinkie probably dropped it on her way after Rainbow Dash"

"your probably right"

"Come on, let's get you home"

they then walked home, avoiding all of Pinkie's large chocolate milk puddles, or could it have belonged to some pony, or even worse, something else?
