Jack is a pilot exploring the farthest reaches of space. While in uncharted space, far from any civilization his ship crash lands in a world of ponies.
...and, to quote a commenter on another fic here, quoting Captain Picard's elucidation of why the Prime Directive must be adhered to:
Invoke the prime directive.
Non interference with cultures less advanced than your own. They say they will develop the weapons on their own.
LET THEM. That's as it should be.
To quote Captain Picard,
"The prime directive is not just a set of rules, it is a philosophy, and a very correct one. History has proved again and again, that whenever mankind interferes with a less developed civilization, no matter how well intentioned that interference may be, the results are invariably disasterous."
...but then Picard isn't exactly a Prime Directive pedant either. (TL;DR: He's called out on having broken it 9 times early on, and it happens additional times on camera later on, so we can assume that it's treated more like pulling a piece in a game of Jenga by those in power.)
Great chapter and the feelings were felt at the end all in all can't wait for the next one
Such sweet sorrow. I just cant help but love it.
I actually was crying and I'm choked up over this. That's a good story. so good. I'm still crying.
Amazing chapter!
I don't think anyone I've ever known has rolled as many natural 1's on diplomacy checks as Jack has.
Wait, he made up the prime directive? Understandible, knowledge should be earned not given freely.
sounds similar to the advice i follow "although those we care are no longer with us they forever live on in our hearts"
