It's not easy finding yourself in a world you weren't made for. But nothing truly worthwhile is easy, a lesson Spike knows all too well. Tags to be added as necessary.

There's that showing! I enjoy it.
Theory:
Twilight walks through the mirror...
Twilight: "Hi! I'm Twilight Sparkle, I'm here to pick up my lost dragon uh...human friend Spike"
Marley: "That's her! That's her officer!"
Officer: "Miss Sparkle, You are under arrest for child slavery, child abandonment and abuse of a minor."
Twilight: "But.. but I have to take him back through the magic mirror so he can be a dragon again."
Officer: "... and apparently being under the influence of drugs."
6918506 An amusing thought, certainly, but there's something simple here that I think doesn't translate very well.
Context.
In Equestria, the land is all over the place in regards to advancement. Some places steam, others industrial and yet still a few locations are locked in the dark ages.
In the world of humans, the land he is in seems to be expressing the technological era and training a child to do a job is abhorrent.
In the world of ponies, while perhaps a bit old fashioned, I'd imagine an apprenticeship wouldn't be something to so much as raise an eye at.
So Spike may talk about something that was passingly normal for him that sounds like fridge horror to us. On the other hand, our normal may make no sense or even offend his sensibilities.
It's a balance I worry about keeping with every chapter I work on.
