Oh ho this gonna be fun!
Now THAT! That... that was epic! Zeppelin takeover! Scootaloo being a hero! A prick getting his throat cut! Boosh!
"YEEEEAAAAHHHH!"
Well, at least some ponies have enough sense to see reason.....
So, in are the wonderbolts in this universe basically from assassins creed brotherhood?
You know, I have a hard time starting anti conversion bureau stories. Not for the reason you may assume, but because they are almost never finished and I'd like to read a what happens afterwards kind of story. Sadly, I have to go for the epilogue of ACB stories for that, and the number of then that are finished are mostly one-shots that presume victory against a rabid Celestia or are vengeance stories and almost all of them are silly, or are bizarre in how they handle Equestria (that is, the ponies who survive end up hating the humans, even though the humans aren't the ones who started the genocide. The point of rebel Equestrian stories is to show that not all ponies (and humans) are monsters and they can work together).
Anyway I started this one on the Final Night Before Judgment chapter because I had made the poor assumption that the story would end shortly. That was eight chapters ago and I really have no idea how much longer you will be drawing out this final battle. Could be another eight more before an epilogue(s), but I'm actually enjoying the ride so far.
I actually have hope for a non-sad (or at least worse than the current situation) ending to this story. What would happen afterwards? A truly tragic ending would be all the converted newfoals (and all the land converted by the barrier) just perish as soon as Solamina is defeated. A more likely ending would be the mind control aspect of newfoals fail, but that is it. I doubt there would be mass conversion back into humanity, it doesn't seem like it would fit the tone of the story. And what would happen to Solamina's empire? The rebel ponies? The ponies from canon Equestria? Albion and it's remaining population of humans? What of magic in Albion since it had awakened?
There is really so many places it could go afterwards and I'd be lying if I claimed I wasn't most interested in what comes after rather than the current battle, but I fully see the current battle is necessary to highlight how everything is coming together and finally playing out after dozens of chapters of setup. It's a shame this story isn't more popular or at least has gotten more views, it's very well written even if the non-rebel/oppressed enemy is firmly in baby eating territory. I look forward to more.

Myself and my writing team were discussing the post-war period and there's a lot of ideas: Converted's fate, the post-war issues concerning land divides, Solaminan loyalists, conscientious objectors, life for the surviving humans...
In actuality, there will be a few chapters dealing with the immediate post war period in this story (two or three tops) but the vast majority of the post-war stuff is being covered in an immediate sequel being planned. I felt that such post-war material would be better covered there. Nonetheless, I'm glad you're enjoying the final battle so far. :-)
